GRANDADS COTTAGE won at the first time of asking on his chase debut at Wetherby and the Olly Murphy inmate could have more to offer in this sphere off only 3lb higher. Fable gained a first success over fences at Bangor earlier in the month and is feared most after being nudged up 4lb. Connections of Quinta Do Mar reach for the first-time cheekpieces and he can't be dismissed with improvement a possibility.

HECTOR JAGUEN made an encouraging start to his chasing career when finishing third at Plumpton last month and looks the one to beat after being dropped 2lb for that effort. Furkash returned to form when finding only one rival too strong at Huntingdon in January and a 2lb rise should see the eight-year-old be competitive once again. Sure Listen arrives on the back of a success over hurdles at Taunton and is another to consider on his chase debut.

GOSHEN reverts to hurdles once more after a second attempt at chasing failed to work out, but the seven-year-old is clearly very capable in this sphere, as seen when finishing second in the rearranged Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day, and he could return to winning ways. Sceau Royal is rated the same as Gary Moore's gelding, but the Alan King-trained inmate does have his stamina to prove over this 2m3f distance, so a bigger threat may emerge from Knappers Hill, who finished second in the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle last week at Wincanton.

WAVERING DOWN appeared revitalised by a break when finishing a close third at Exeter earlier this month and he could regain the winning thread stepping back up in distance. Watergrange Jack could pose the biggest threat after being dropped 2lb for finishing fifth at Ffos Las recently, while Peace Of Rome may have more to offer now entering handicaps for the Nicky Henderson team, with the first-time tongue-tie an interesting addition.

KANSAS DU BERLAIS sets a strong standard after finishing a never-nearer second over 2m at Lingfield recently and the Gary Moore inmate should take all the beating up slightly in distance. General Medrano is feared most, despite shouldering a 7lb penalty for winning over C&D earlier in the month and he isn't taken lightly given the manner of that success. Goodwin Racing ran a respectable race when runner-up on his hurdling debut at Plumpton last month and makes most appeal of the remainder.

TOUT EST PERMIS does rate a slightly risky proposition after pulling up twice since joining the Archie Watson yard, including soon after the start at Sandown last time, but the 10-year-old is very capable on a going day and looks to have been found a good opportunity to get back on track. Trappist Monk has won twice between the flags since last racing under Rules and he looks most likely to capitalise if the selection fails to fire, ahead of Back Bar, who wasn't disgraced when finishing third at Charing point-to-point earlier in the month.

SPITALFIELD made an encouraging start for Jonjo O'Neill when finishing second over C&D last month and he appears to be more than capable of going one better. Goodwin caught the eye when getting up to finish third on his bumper bow at Chepstow in December and he could pose the biggest threat, ahead of the Paul Nicholls-trained Seaside Legend, who was second on his debut at Hereford in November. Any market support for newcomers Two To Tango or Cairo King would also make them of interest.
