LUSKA LAD was a good second in a hot bumper at Punchestown last time and has winning form over this course and distance. He looks like an above average hurdler in the making and is the one to beat. Magnanimity is a winner in the pointing field and comes from leading connections. He'll like this trip so keep an eye on him in the betting. Liss Na Tintri was last seen running an excellent second in a bumper at Aintree's Grand National meeting and is another with lots of potential.
Luska Lad could go a long way over hurdles this season and is likely to be a tough nut to crack. Liss Na Tintri is the one most likely to take advantage if he slips up, and Awkward Moment makes just about the most appeal of the remainder.

LAST DRAW had no problem with testing conditions when running away a competitive maiden hurdle at Punchestown latest. He stayed this trip well there and further improvement is likely. Regal Obligation comes here on the back of a win on the Flat at Downpatrick and she will be thereabouts if her jumping holds up. Of the others Daneva looks just about the pick but they all have plenty to find.
It's hard to look past Last Draw in this novice event, as he has clearly the best form on offer and is probably yet to reach his peak. Daneva looks the next best judged on her bumper form, her yard always worthy of respect at this track, whilst Regal Obligation was better than ever when last seen out on the Flat.

KING ALI has been in cracking form over fences, winning his last two starts with plenty still in the locker. He was a convincing winner on his last hurdles start, which was here at the Festival in similar conditions, and he's the one to beat. Merchant Paddy is another switching back from the larger obstacles on the back of some impressive wins. He's entitled to need this after a break but would be a big threat if wound-up. Sharadi was a comfortable winner here over 3m last time and his stamina will be a plus in today's testing conditions
A tough handicap hurdle to assess as plenty of these are potentially well weighted on chase form. Two who fit that bill are Beroni and Merchent Paddy, with the former getting the nod on his first start since joining Willie Mullins. Of the others, Sharadi was progressive when last seen in August and rates as a big danger.

NATURAL HIGH has done nothing wrong so far and wasn't stopping when running out a ready winner at Tipperary last time over 1m4f. He handles cut in the ground and there should be plenty more to come. First Trim is fit from a spin over hurdles at Chepstow last time and has enough ability to make his presence felt at this level. He stays well and handles the ground. Lucky At Last has been running well over this sort of trip and a repeat of his Navan second would put him right on the premises again
Not an easy race to get a handle on, with jumps form counting for nearly as much as Flat form. Torphichen scores highly on both counts, however, and is from a stable in form and fancied to go well. GARRYOWEN STAR has been knocking on the door at this level and was again a close-up third at Punchestown last time out. He's gone up just 1lb for that effort and these conditions suit. Operation Houdini has lost his way a little since winning this 12 months ago but Ruby Walsh is an interesting booking for the yard and he's got place claims.

CHINA ROCK was a decent hurdler and he was well-supported ahead of a spin over fences at Gowran last time out. He will have benefited from that experience and is capable of bouncing back. Oran Flyer has done little wrong over fences so far and went down in a driving finish at Tipperary latest. He stays well and there should be more to come. Sigma Lifestyle is an interesting recruit to the chasing ranks. He improved a lot over hurdles last year and is one to watch on this comeback run.
Some decent types from hurdles on show here, including China Rock, who can be expected to improve a lot from his recent debut and take some beating here. Sigma Lifestyle is the one to chase him home, while Oran Flyer brings solid enough form to the table to see him run into a minor placing.

LONG STRAND was pitched into a Cheltenham Festival bumper for his last start so finishing down the field was no disgrace. He had earlier won well at Navan in the mud and looks the one to beat. Lucy Stone had plenty in hand when scoring at Kilbeggan last time out and will relish the cut in the ground. She's a major threat, while Deise Boy wasn't beaten far on his latest start here and is another to consider.
A bumper open to previous winners and the well-bred Lucy Stone is a confident selection to follow up her recent Kilbeggan success. Long Strand and Tornedo Shay were above average last term and are expected to prove the biggest dangers in that order.
