TAWNY PORT has won both of his starts in handicap company and while he only won narrowly last time, the son of Arcano is clearly progressing and he could have more to offer today. Racemaker and Trick Of The Lyte are others who arrive here in very good form and they could prove to be the main dangers to the selection. That said, Bourbonisto and Reckless Serenade both warrant each-way consideration.

This could come down to a battle between Now Children and SOFIA'S ROCK. The preference is for the latter because the form of his second at Haydock is the best on offer in this contest and he is proven over the distance. Now Children appeared to run above expectations when second at 50/1 on debut over 6f at Carlisle last month and he is fully entitled to improve for that experience. The market may be the best guide to what is expected from Keith Dalgleish's newcomers Euro Nightmare and Rock N Rolla.

Mount Cheiron would be a danger to all if he were to transfer his recent all-weather form to the turf but he is not certain to do so. CHARLES DE MILLE did disappoint over C&D last time out but if that was just a blip then the eight-year-old is potentially well handicapped, considering he is just 1lb higher than when a very close third here in May. The consistent Galilee Chapel and Stanlow look to be the pick of the remainder.

Courier has been in a rich vein of form recently and is more than entitled to have a go at a decent prize like this but preference goes to the unexposed GIDDY, who has threatened to be a fair bit better than her mark of 78 suggests. Richard Fahey's filly was disappointing when last seen at York in June but has been given time to recover since that performance and it would be no surprise to see the daughter of Kyllachy bounce back. Others to consider include Dutch Mist and Rose Eclair.

Mark Johnston has an excellent record in this contest having won it four out of the last five years and his RENFREW STREET makes considerable appeal. She was a disappointing favourite when last seen at Ayr in June but that was her third run in quick succession and she should be a big danger to all coming back from a two-month absence. Lord Yeats should benefit from a less forceful ride than he got at the Shergar Cup at Ascot last time and had looked on an upward curve before that. Top Of The Glas has improved on his last couple of starts which includes a win at Carlisle where he beat Mukhayyam, who has been running consistently well of late, and both shouldn't be too far away.

ROCK CANYON bounced back with a good second here over C&D last week behind Salvatore Fury and gets further help in the saddle with Clifford Lee claiming an extra 2lb off his back. Ypres (was also engaged to run at Musselburgh yesterday) was also placed behind Salvatore Fury at Catterick earlier this month and is a danger on that effort having been dropped 1lb for the run, while Indastar has been in solid form and cannot be discounted.
