Allotrope showed her appreciation for a drop in class when touched off at Delta, but MISS TENA MARIE is the one with her sights lowered now and she can take full advantage. Sequaya, Alexandra's Song and Sapphire Nights are all in with a shout as well.

PALHACO hasn't come up to scratch at Turfway since breaking his duck there just before Christmas, but this sort of competition should be more to his liking and he can get back on track. The return to Hawthorne should see Perfumer in a better light too, with Desert Highway another firmly in contention.

After completing a Delta double, MIDNIGHT'S GIRL was no match for a runaway winner at the same venue. She stuck to her guns, though, and is given another chance while in this sort of form. Lily's Woofy might give her a target to aim at after a dominant triumph over 5f here. Shez Reckless is another to consider.

HELEN MAE'S SONG has fallen short at Turfway the last twice, but she was a determined winner the last time she raced at this venue and is selected on that basis. Loona Luv and Cookin Roses may be the mares who gives her most to think about.

RISKY BOY made a triumphant return to action over track and trip last week and as long as this doesn't come too soon, he can double up. Bourbon Teddy is much better than he showed on his reappearance and, like Uncaptured Pulse, is closely matched with the selection on last year's form.

Quite an interesting little contest and one VALIANT WEST may be able to claim before going on to better things. Pat Clay's four-year-old shaped like a decent horse when getting off the mark at Tampa, while Cash Fever didn't taste competitive action until December and also has a future. Larry The Poet and Twirling Roses are a couple more to consider.

DAVIDIC LINE has been performing quite well in defeat at Delta and if he runs to that level here, it could be good enough. More is expected from Global Empire now he returns to Hawthorne, with the shortlist rounded out by Super Wise and Cousvinnysacanuck.

Pacific View and Call Me Penny help set the standard but it is far from insurmountable and it wouldn't be a surprise if DI'S SURPRISE, who fetched $160,000 last year, could extend Larry Rivelli's good recent form on debut. Fellow newcomer Beauty Of The Nile is worth a look too.
