After wins at Kempton and Ffos Las in August, the in-form FLIGHTOFTHEPHOENIX is a strong contender bidding to complete a hat-trick. Still unexposed over 1m4f, the Charlie Hills-trained filly has scope for further progression and a 5lb penalty doesn't appear too restrictive. Recobella and I'd Go Maniac are others at the top of their game who can make this a good test, while last year's winner Ribble River cannot be confidently ruled out off just 3lb higher.

BURNING UP was a convincing winner over C&D on his debut 27 days ago and is hard to oppose despite picking up a 7lb penalty. The son of Too Darn Hot showed an impressive turn of foot to win that maiden and sets a fair standard for the rest to aim at. Austin has a similar pedigree and runs for the same owner. Therefore, any support in the betting would be significant. Zarak Crown and Hands To Yourself are other notable debutants to keep an eye on.

FLYING PIRATE ran green when he made a winning debut at Salisbury in June and wasn't disgraced when attempting to follow up under a penalty at the same venue most recently. Fractious in the preliminaries on that occasion, the addition of cheekpieces could be a good move given the form has been franked since. Reflect On Glory is an obvious danger after getting off the mark at the second attempt at Ripon, while Frankie Power is an interesting newcomer to monitor in the betting.

Diplomata has shown ability in her three career appearances so far and she needs to be taken seriously on her nursery bow, but it may pay to side with KATIE'S CAVALIER. The son of Kodi Bear went in by a neck over this trip at Leicester last month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 3lb. Green Titan and Gerry's Darling are others to consider.

DOES MARY KNOW improved on his debut sixth at Goodwood to only find Rogue Jewel too good at Ripon and is likely to have more to offer on this occasion. Sharadd changed hands for 175,000 euros as a yearling and is related to a few winners, including Binhareer, who won on his second juvenile start. Fellow newcomer Powerful Force warrants a market check.

Star Cast hasn't finished outside the top two in each of her last four starts and is bound to go well again. Similar comments apply to Polygram, but they both might be up against it with HOLLYWELL STREAM. The daughter of Lope De Vega struck by over a length on her handicap debut at Newmarket and she could have further improvement to come.

Pol Roger got back on the winning trail at Ayr on his most recent start and remains on a workable mark, so he isn't taken lightly. However, STORM POINT went in by over two lengths over a mile at Newbury prior to running below par over the same C&D next time, but this step up in distance looks the right move and he is fancied to bounce back. Nightsinwhitesatin completes the shortlist.
