A difficult puzzle to solve with a tentative vote going to FERNHILL DANE, who ran very well on his handicap debut at Carlisle last month. The five-year-old can capitalise off the same mark here with the drop in trip expected to suit. Placed on four of his last five starts on Irish shores, Get Phar is an intriguing recruit for the Danny Brooke stable. C&D winner Lord Caprio must also enter calculations along with Click And Collect and Trac.

ESME SHELBY is a standout in this contest after an agonising defeat at Chepstow last month. The six-year-old has been knocking on the door of late and she may not get a better opportunity to get off the mark at the eighth time of asking. Irish import Rocco Storm may be best placed to chase her home on her first start for new connections, while Grand Enterprise is a consistent sort who has only once been outside the places in his last five outings. Course specialist Sophie Olivia is not out of it either.

John McConnell is as good as any when it comes to targeting races across the water and it looks as though he has found an ideal opportunity for recent Tramore second SHE IS A CONTENDER. The daughter of Arcadio has improved with each run this season and she looks the one to beat on her fifth start under Rules. Betty Baloo was a taking winner of a bumper here back in May and is worth noting along with Huntingdon winner Somewhat Cloudy.

Dual hurdles winner CRACK DU NINIAN made the perfect start to his chasing career when scoring over 2m1f at Sedgefield last month and that form took a big boost when the third came out and won next time. Jennie Candlish's charge is entitled to improve for that first run since March and he gets the vote to defy a 4lb rise. Fete Champetre also made a winning reappearance last month, but that came over hurdles at Kelso. Switching to fences for the first time, he must enter calculations, similarly Mega Yeats.

GEONICE has turned a corner since switched to handicap company and stepped up in trip, with his last-start success over C&D franked with the sixth from that race winning since. It's a big positive to see Brian Hughes maintain the partnership and the five-year-old could prove tough to beat, despite a 5lb rise. Magic Of Milan lines up off the same mark as when third in a similar track-and-trip event in May and she warrants respect on her return, while Mcgarry and Atomic Angel are other names to note.

ASKING FOR ANSWERS could be the answer here if anywhere near peak fitness on his seasonal reappearance. Encouragingly, the eight-year-old was successful first time out last season and, with top conditional Peter Kavanagh aboard and first-time cheekpieces equipped, the past C&D winner is fancied to play a leading role today. Supreme Steel won here two starts ago and was in the process of running another solid race when a last-fence faller at Sedgefield latest. He and To The Limit, who ran well at this venue on his penultimate outing, look to be the main dangers.

Here We Have It shaped with lots of promise in two NH starts last season, being touched off in a Carlisle bumper before chasing home the smart Tommy's Oscar on his hurdling debut at Newcastle, and he makes plenty of appeal on his reappearance. Crystal Glory is two from two between the flags and has to be considered on his debut under Rules, while West End Lady, Schalke and High Moon also hold claims. However, MR JACKMAN readily justified favouritism over C&D last month and he rates the one to beat.
