Richard Guest holds a strong hand with his two entries. Top weight College City is very consistent and could put his experience to good use over many making their chasing debuts. Stablemate Prince Adjal is interesting. Made favourite on first start over the larger obstacles, he travelled well before falling. He made amends next time out, winning comfortably at Market Rasen before reverting to timber at Worcester where he failed to show. Back over fences he will be sure to figure. However at the bottom PARISIENNE GALE looks to be the one to be on. Richard Ford's progressive 6yo jumps from fence to fence and if leading over the last the rest may find her hard to claw back up the hill to the line.

Unless something produces form yet unseen, the Jedd O'Keeffe trained UNITED SPIRIT can follow up her recent Huntingdon victory by scoring again here. The form of that race has been boosted with the third horse that day going on to win at Wincanton. If her penalty does not prove too much, there is not a great deal in this field to worry her. Looking hard for dangers, Polly Whitefoot can improve on a promising run at Newcastle where she tired after holding every chance, and her bumper win at Perth gives her place prospects. A market move for Irish raider Tingshaw Ring will be a useful guide.

Bought out of the Jonjo O'Neill yard, master trainer Richard Guest will need more time to get the best from Renvyle. Alfy Rich has two ways of running. He either gets in the frame or fails to finish. Today he has to prove his well being after breaking a blood vessel last time. Peter Niven's Panmure could play a prominent role but the tentative choice is RISKY WAY. Sure to enjoy the track, he ran well here eight days go and if the extra half mile does not prove too far, he should be good enough.

This looks only to concern a couple with the main protagonists being Gabor and HABITUAL. The Martin Todhunter topweight has to be considered as he hardly ever runs a poor race. Despite being basically selling class, his second to Miss Skippy has been given a boost by the Newcombe mare running second in a better grade at Worcester two days ago. But on balance, John Quinn has the likely winner with HABITUAL. Given a tender and clever ride by Tony McCoy earlier this week at Wincanton, the 7lb penalty is negated by the claiming rider and he looks to be striking whilst the iron is hot.

16:15 Hexham (Class F) (5YO plus)

This race appears to revolve around the race here at Hexham eight days ago when TEE-JAY proved far too strong for both Starbuck and Swallow Magic. Giving weight to Starbuck that day there seems no logical reason why off level weights Micky Hammond's charge isn't a handicap snip and something of a good thing. The only drawback is that he is not the most reliable. Ferdy Murphy's Swallow Magic should not turn the form around either therefore the most likely danger may come from the Irish import Moss Bawn.

Nothing but a seller in disguise with several very moderate performers. The one in the line-up that may go on to better things is the once-raced ROSSLARE. Richard Fahey's gelding showed definite promise at Newcastle some 248 days ago and if the trainer has got him back to the racecourse fit he should prove too good for these. Of the rest at least Diamond Jack has won a race, albeit a seller, and the Irish challenger Key To The Kingdom won at Downpatrick back in August.

What a way to get out of trouble! A conditional and amateur jockeys "bumper ". It should pay however to side with the proven form here so look no further than the Mick Easterby-trained AMALFI STORM, ridden by the useful Tom Greenhall. A beaten odds-on favourite last week here at Hexham, she did herself no favours by losing her footing on a couple of occasions but she can score today. If the Easterby horse does not score then Chris Thornton's Redditzio could be the one to benefit. Her fourth two weeks ago will stand her in good stead as improvement can be expected.
