BENNELONG has been knocking on the door of late and his record at this track is very good, having finished in the first three in 21 of his 38 starts here, and it will be very hard to keep him from adding to that record today. San Quentin is arguably better on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton but, while his two most recent runs have been disappointing, he is a C&D winner. Silver Lining looks to be the pick of the remainder.

Weld Al Khawaneej is rarely beaten far and he is likely to be on the premises once again. It was not a great race that AUTUMN BLOSSOM won on debut but she is well-bred and there should be much more to come from this daughter of Bernardini. An opening mark of 67 looks far from prohibitive and she is also the least exposed of these by some way. Winged Dancer has shown some ability in four starts, although he looks high enough in the weights.

EXALTED finished behind Equleus when that rival won over C&D in November. That form will be hard to reverse but it was the former's first start in handicap company and he is 8lb better off at the weights now. Equleus is clearly still in good form but the rise in the ratings will make life tougher for him. Depth Charge has been running well at Wolverhampton of late and is another who should be thereabouts, along with another C&D winner in Alketios.

Fire And Passion may be perked up by the fitting of first-time cheekpieces and is respected after going close over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. It is possible the step up to this longer trip could help Jeremy Gask's charge, though unexposed John Gosden representative BARTOK, a 55,000 guinea yearling, is expected to know his job first time out and is one to monitor closely in the betting on his racecourse bow. Fellow newcomers Blanco and Sam Missile are others worth market checks.

U S NAVY SEAL had an eventful time on the all-weather last month, chasing home a smart sort in Sign Of A Victory at Wolverhampton, unseating his rider after being sent off favourite at Southwell and then breaking his duck, deservedly, over 1m2f at Chelmsford City latest. He steps up in trip on his handicap debut and is expected to go well off a revised perch of 84. Cahill was reeled in late on at Wolverhampton last time and is respected now dropping back from 1m6f, while the likes of Giantstepsahead, Serena Grae and Royal Warranty are all handicapped to make their presence felt.

DUTCH GOLDEN AGE appeared to win a shade cosily when breaking his maiden over 6f here last month and the step up to this longer trip is expected to unlock immediate improvement now he goes handicapping. Alhella was third off 1lb higher over track and trip last time and is considered the main danger ahead of Brazen Spirit and Twin Point, both of whom are stepping up from 6f. Shamlan advertised his well-being when fourth at Wolverhampton last month and could also take a hand.

Welease Bwian has a tendency to miss the break but is weighted to go well if breaking on terms, while the consistent Triple Dream has been knocking on the door over this trip at Lingfield and is unlikely to be far away even though he's crept up another 2lb in the ratings. Preferred ahead of both, however, is EMPERORS WARRIOR, who broke his maiden over C&D in October and bounced back from a tame 7f run at Lingfield when touched off by just half a length off 1lb lower here last time.
