CAPTAIN SCOOBY was a winner at Chelmsford when last tried on the all-weather and he arrives here just 1lb higher in the ratings. He has struggled off much higher marks on turf in two subsequent starts and he should find this test more suitable. Presto Boy chased home a well-handicapped rival at Bath when last seen but he remains a maiden after 25 starts. Others who can make the frame are Diminutive and Chandresh.

BROTHER TIGER has taken on tough assignments on turf the last twice but returns to calmer waters now back from a break. The booking of Adam Kirby is a statement of intent by the David Griffiths team and he's expected to bounce out and tack over from stall nine to give it his very best shot on the front end. Outrage was hampered at Chelmsford last time, when finishing ahead of Dynamo Walt (fifth) and Burning Thread (sixth), but could also go well if granted a clearer passage.

Wordsearch is steadily improving between runs but appeared to be tapped for toe over this trip at Newcastle last time. He also has a wide draw to contend with, so the suspicion is his turn may come when stepped up in trip and switched to handicaps. The vote instead goes to SALIERI, who kept on well over 7f last time and promises to be suited by this additional furlong. Modern Life is entitled to build on a solid debut fifth here over 6f now stepped up in trip and could also finish on the premises.

Dominating took a forward step when second over track and trip last time and is expected to give a good account off an unchanged rating. Mark Johnston's charge would have made more appeal from a lower draw, however, so preference is for MONEYORYOURLIFE, who hinted his turn was approaching when beaten by little over a length over a similar trip off 1lb higher on turf at Leicester last time. Quick Thought could leave behind some wayward turf efforts now back on the all-weather and is another to monitor in the betting. She is by Sir Percy, so could improve for the step up from 7f.

HATHIQ sets the form standard on his two runner-up finishes in maidens at Newmarket and Newbury. The three horses that finished immediately behind him at HQ have won since to rubber stamp that particular line of form, while his Newbury conqueror went on to finish fourth in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster next time out and is now rated 103, showing that run in a favourable light, too. Any money for Godolphin newcomer Big Tour, a 750,000gns recruit, would be noteworthy while Ripp Orf is also respected.

CHOOKIE ROYALE shaped like a horse in need of the outing when fading like an Arsenal title challenge here last time. Keith Dalgleish's eight-year-old is perfectly entitled to come on for that run, though, and could be dangerous if let loose on the front end here in a race he won 12 months ago. Mitchum Swagger found Group 1 company too hot in the QEII last time but has strong claims on these terms now lowering his sights, while it is only three months since Donjuan Triumphant was placed in the Group 1 Maurice de Gheest and he could potentially leave behind two tame subsequent performances in better races if a first-time hood works its magic.

From a low draw, Sennockian Star may be ridden a little more aggressively than he was at Doncaster last time, while Storm Rock is a smart older horse who could build on his recent Newbury fifth and also take a hand. The three-year-olds look the ones to focus on for win purposes, though, and SIXTIES GROOVE is taken to reassert his Newmarket superiority (fourth) over Banish (13th) who, in turn, had the beating of Charlies Mate (third) when scoring on his last visit to this venue in September. Red Rannagh, Rock Steady are Sam Missile are other likely types to consider.

Estibdaad usually gives his running and is unlikely to be far away at the finish, while Gary Moore's handicap debutant Art Of Swing, who has the assistance of George Baker in the saddle, is another older horse that could finish on the premises. The weight the three-year-olds receive could prove key, however, and David Lanigan inmate GOLD RETURN is fully expected to defy a 3lb rise for winning over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton, make the most of her 5lb allowance and improve for this stiffer test.
