The 84-rated PARTY RULER rates the one to beat on these terms as he was beaten by little over a length in 0-95 company at Chester as recently as August and looks capable of running to something like his official rating. The general form of the stable and a low draw are other factors in the selection's favour. Fine Art Fair has been in good form in 5f handicaps and has place claims now upped in trip. First-time blinkers may unlock some improvement from Princess Rose too.

POETIC VERSE has kept good company this year but has been comprehensively beaten on recent starts and may still be a little flattered by her current mark based on recent efforts. This drop in class could help compensate for that, however, and she looks a danger to all on these terms. Checkpoint went close in a 1m maiden here two weeks ago and now steps back up in trip. Knight's Parade is another to consider now dropping down in grade having recently struggled in handicaps.

PEARL SPECTRE sets the standard based on placed efforts over this distance at Newbury and Sandown on his two previous outings. He was sent off 4-6 favourite on the latter occasion so it will be interesting to see if the money is down for him again this evening. The 72-rated Souville appeared to improve for the fitting of a hood when fourth over 6f at Yarmouth last time and this extra furlong is ideal for her. It is unlikely we've seen the best of Godolphin representative Almargo yet, either.

HESBAAN has demonstrated improvement between his first and second runs and the manner in which he stayed on at the finish on soft ground over 6f at Newbury last time hinted he'd appreciate this extra furlong. Wellesbourne is entitled to improve with the benefit of his run at Wolverhampton under his belt and is expected to put up most resistance. Market support for Richard Hannon's newcomer Potentate and Sir Michael Stoute inmate Sahara Desert would also be noteworthy.

Royal Peculiar travels strongly through his races but was beaten by the trip over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last month, weakening late on. Improvement is expected after a slight ease in the weights now dropping back to an easier trip, but from a handicapping perspective, I'M FRAAM GOVAN makes stronger appeal. He was beaten by half a length off 2lb lower at Sandown last time but remains on a fair mark now returning to the scene of his maiden win in August. Uphold and Purple 'n Gold both make some each-way appeal.

CLAIM THE ROSES is 2-2 on polytrack, breaking her maiden over this trip at Wolverhampton and then bouncing back from a moderate handicap run on turf at HQ when scoring here over 6f in August. The handicapper has reacted with a subsequent 8lb rise but the return to 7f could offset that hike and ensure Ed Vaughan's charge remains competitive. Mime Dance was beaten by a head off this mark at Epsom last time and has place claims along with Beau Nash, was was second in a C&D novices' event latest.

It is no surprise to see LUTINE BELL turned out quickly following his fine second at Ascot on Friday and given how well he has handled this surface in the past, he makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged handicap mark this evening. Glanely still looks on the upgrade following his highly creditable fourth in a soft ground Newbury event recently, a comment that cannot be said of Duke Cosimo. The latter has been below par recently but returns from a short break now and it is hard to forget how promising he looked back in the spring.

Hail Promenader has been knocking on the door of late and shouldn't be too far away again while Arabian Flight handles this surface really well and shaped with promise here last month. Archelao is another to note but the one who makes most appeal is MOMENT IN THE SUN, a ready winner at Wolverhampton last time that still appears a well treated animal as Kieren Fallon takes over in the saddle this evening.
