JESSICA WIGMO looked the winner when hitting the front over C&D last time until getting collared late home. Compensation awaits here for Tony Carroll's mare though, with a 1lb rise still leaving her very well treated on the pick of her AW form. Valdemar was well held at Wolverhampton last month but has produced his best form here and is another well handicapped and likely to finish in the mix. The Magic Of Rio might be capable of better for David Evans and could be rejuvenated by a first-time visor so completes the shortlist.

TOPCROFT blew away the cobwebs when second in a Southwell seller last month but is equally at home on polytrack and remains capable of more improvement if he has put his problems behind him. Derek Shaw's charge is best treated at the weights and looks the one they have to beat. The ever dependable Fivefold runs well in this grade and looks well worth a try at this longer trip. April Fool sauntered to victory over the extended mile at Wolverhampton last time and would be dangerous if allowed an easy time of things out in front.

Treacle Tart remains open to more improvement but this step back in trip is considered a negative and others make more appeal. CLASSICALLY was one paced at Lingfield last weekend and the step up in trip seems a logical move. Hughie Morrison's gelding is eased in grade and looks the one to beat with his effectiveness on polytrack also proven. Layla's Dancer landed a 1m5f contest in this grade at Lingfield yesterday and would have strong double claims if allowed to take his chance.

METROPOLITAN CHIEF is holding his form well at present and was the one to take from the race when chasing home Lethal at Wolverhampton last month. Paul Burgoyne's gelding was denied by just a short-head that day and is obviously handicapped to win races. He steps up in trip but has scored over 7f before so gets the nod. Abigails Angel has been in good form since returning from a long lay-off and could improve for this drop back in trip, while A Pocketful Of Rye is well treated and capable of making his presence felt.

Frameit was in command when scoring at Lingfield recently and is afforded plenty of respect now turned out under a penalty, but the pair to focus may be EXEMPLARY and Muzo. The latter has been raised 9lb for his easy success over C&D last time but is evidently going the right way and shouldn't be too far away. Marginal preference, however, is for Mark Johnston's charge, who has held his own in stronger races than this and is still open to more improvement over staying distances.

Spinning Bailiwick returned to the winner's enclosure when upped to a mile on her latest start and although dropped back to 6f here, still warrants respect with previous winning form over this trip. Absa Lutte (engaged to run at Kempton yesterday) is sliding down the weights and wasn't beaten far at Wolverhampton last week. Michael Mullineaux's mare is 2lb lower now and should be on the premises but BLACK BACCARA could prove too strong for all. She wasn't beaten far at Lingfield under a penalty latest but races off a 1lb lower mark now and is taken to return to winning ways.

John Potts has been superbly placed by Brian Baugh and completed a four-timer at Wolverhampton when last sighted, but all of his best form to date has come at that track and it remains to be seen whether he can make it five on the bounce now racing elsewhere and up 5lb in the weights. ZAFEEN'S PEARL looks open to a greater level of progression and she gets the vote. She caught a tartar last time but has time on her side and looks capable of improving well beyond this grade. The dependable Dichoh has solid place claims.

Sovereignty was given a tender ride in the finish over C&D last time but there is no denying he is handicapped to win more races and with stronger handling here it would come as no surprise to see him return to form. Mister Green is handicapped to go well and should benefit from the return to this quicker surface after struggling at Southwell last time, but SADDLERS BEND is a confident choice and fancied to score for George Baker. The selection was an unlucky loser when last sighted having become trapped in a pocket but will take all the beating if granted a clear passage here.
