A big field but there appears to be plenty of dead wood and a chance can be taken with TREVISANI, who has won twice on the all-weather track here. The son of Dubawi cost his new connections 150,000gns back in October and the blinkers are not a worry as all of his wins on the level came with some kind of headgear. Excellent Result bombed out at Cheltenham when last seen back in November but his second to the useful Keep In Line prior to that gives him a shout today, while Peggies Venture is another who could bounce back from a poor effort last time out.

Days Of Heaven is clearly talented but he ended his campaign last year when third in the US in a valuable contest and might need this run after such a campaign that only ended in November. Holly Bush Henry ran in the 2016 Supreme Novices' Hurdle that has produced so many big race winners and he looks to be getting his act together now over fences, though he will need to be at his best to prevent CLIC WORK from completing a hat-trick. He has been impressive recently and brilliantly placed by Paul Nicholls. He receives the vote to score.

DIVINE SPEAR lost little in defeat when runner-up in a competitive Ascot contest last month and is expected to remain competitive following a 5lb rise in the ratings. Keep In Line has contested Graded races of late and is respected now moving into a handicap, likewise Brio Conti, who romped home by nine lengths in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster, and Market Rasen novice hurdle scorer Bandsman. Irish raider Golden Spear probably has a big prize in him, while Top Tug is unexposed over this longer trip and could also finish on the premises.

SIR NOTE shades the verdict in what looks a fiercely competitive handicap. He boasts an impressive record of five wins from six starts over fences and could well defy a further 3lb rise in the ratings. Max Ward bounced back from his C&D fall with a solid placed effort at Newbury and he is likely to be in the mix again, while top-rated Romain De Senam cannot be ruled out either.

New Horizons won off this mark over hurdles on his penultimate outing, though he has raced only once since, pulling-up over a similar trip at Huntingdon last time. It might be worth chancing one of eased-in-grade pair MANGO CAP and Bugsie Malone. Narrow preference is for the former, a David Pipe representative that could leave his latest run in the Ayr mud behind now he is tackling a sounder surface.

This contest looks to be at the mercy of CULTIVATOR, who was deemed good enough to run in the Challow at Newbury last time out and should relish this drop in class for the in-form Nicky Henderson team. Pilansberg has long been held in decent regard by Paul Nicholls and should figure at the business end if freshened up by a break since November, while Just Before Dawn had some smart form before being hit with a 877-day absence and the market could be the best guide to his prospects.

The usual suspects have some intriguing contenders that look to be worth focusing on and Nicky Henderson's record in this sphere makes REBEL COMMANDER of interest. The five-year-old is owned by the same syndicate as Champion Bumper fifth Western Ryder and the son of Flemensfirth is expected to know his job on debut. Harry Fry has two strong runners though Vision D'auteuil looks to be the pick of the pair wearing a first-time tongue-tie. Destrier is a well-bred son of Voix Du Nord, while Rooster Cogburn cost plenty at the sales and needs a market check.
