TIGRIS RIVER is progressing nicely and can land the opener for Aidan O'Brien. He failed in his bid for a hat-trick in a valuable handicap at Listowel but lost nothing defeat as he just failed to concede weight to the useful Golden Spear and looks much more favourably treated at these weights. Chatham House Rule will be no pushover, though, having mixed in good company last season, but he may just need this first run since April. Holy Water, runner-up in maiden company the last twice, gets 7lb from the aforementioned duo and completes the shortlist.

Willie Mullins has won this race twice in the last three years and should add to his tally courtesy of LONG DOG. A facile winner on all three starts since narrowly missing out on his hurdling bow, he looked better the further he went over 2m4f at Listowel last month and will be very tough to stop over this extra furlong if putting in a clear round. Delegate has yet to open his account but has shown ability in bumpers and could prove the biggest danger now switched to hurdles, making more appeal than Gowran maiden winner Solatentif.

ROCK ON ROSIE has been in top form recently as she followed up back to back wins with two runner-up efforts on her last two starts. She earned another 3lb rise for her last run but is a progressive mare and more improvement should not be ruled out. Pleased As Punch is a consistent sort but she has found winning difficult recently, while Balofilo is seeking a hat-trick and is worth entering into calculations.

PRESENTING MAHLER has been in good form all summer and she deserved her good win in a similar event at Clonmel earlier this month. An 8lb rise makes life tougher but she still remains on a relatively low mark. Tigroney is another last time out winner but her only disappointing run recently came on heavy going so any cut in the ground would be a worry. Chief Of Panama and Ceol Agus Ol are others who have decent chances.

Devils Bride doesn't have much in hand at the weights but is a solid contender based on his defeat of Texas Jack at Listowel last month. BALLY LONGFORD was progressing nicely over fences before disappointing slightly over hurdles last time and a return to the bigger obstacles can see him go well. Shadow Catcher is a consistent type and Azorian looks interesting on his first start for Gordon Elliott.

URANO was collared in the last stride by the reopposing Rogue Angel in the Kerry National at Listowel last time, idling his chance away on the run-in. He is 4lb better off with that rival now and, with Ruby Walsh taking over in the plate, he can come through late to land the spoils. Mouse Morris' charge isn't opposed lightly as he bids to land a big-race double, while The Paparrazi Kid wasn't far behind the aforementioned pair and can make his presence felt. Shanpallas is 6lb higher than when successful in this last season but commands respect, along with Spring Heeled and Opening Batsman.

ROCK ON FRUITY made an encouraging start to his chasing career when second at Listowel last month, in the process shaping as though the step up to this sort of trip would be in his favour. He can go one better at the chief expense of Rightville Boy, whose greater experience over the larger obstacles should stand him in good stead. Lord Scoundrel is worth noting on his return from a 196-day absence, and Kylestyle can also play a part.
