CHINA ROCK appeared to have plenty left in reserve when scoring over 2m4f on his hurdling debut at Listowel 23 days ago and, with this step up in trip not a concern, he could take some stopping in his bid to follow up. Garrai Ard didn't appear to get home when third over 2m6f at Tralee last time and should benefit from the drop in trip, while recent Navan winner, Valhalla Vision, is another in with a shout.

FRANCIS DU MESNIL was in the process of running a big race when coming to grief on his latest run at Fairyhouse in April and, providing that incident has not dented his confidence, he can make a winning return. All Sorts Star won in workmanlike fashion at Killarney last time and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while An Cailin Coole is another with claims if putting her best foot forward.

BEAU MICHAEL was far from disgraced when sixth on his latest hurdles outing in a Grade 1 at Punchestown in April and, with a recent spin on the flat under his belt, he gets the vote to score in this lesser company. Personal Column is being fitted with cheekpieces following his recent crashing fall at Listowel and could pose the main danger, while his stablemate, City Meaning, is another worthy of consideration.

The John Walsh-trained JACKIEANDY stayed on in determined fashion when landing the spoils over 2m1f at Tralee last time and, with no fears over this stiffer test of stamina, he will be well fancied to complete the double. Old Peak Road has the hat-trick firmly in his sights and could give the selection most to think about, while Danny's Vic is another that cannot be ruled out on her first run since April.

Eric McNamara's PONMEOATH was impressive when landing his second consecutive Kerry National at Listowel 25 days ago and, although a 10lb hike in the weights is sure to make life a lot tougher, he looks up to the task. Oulart was 3-lengths behind the selection on that occasion (finishing second) and seems sure to be on the premises once again, while Dear Villez is another that warrants respect.

Paul Nicholls has stated his intention to challenge for the trainer's title in Ireland and MARODIMA should return to Ditcheat with some money in the coffers. He improved steadily throughout last season and is sure to be ridden positively in search of a fourth successive victory. Dbest is a potent threat on his return to fencing and Holly Tree has become a highly consistent and solid performer. Cheltenham Festival winner Finger Onthe Pulse is set for a good season but may find this trip too sharp on his return.

CORRICK BRIDGE is selected to atone for his unfortunate departure at the second last when looking sure to collect on his fencing debut at Killarney. He was a decent hurdler and the form of that race is working out very well. Badgerlaw has yet to fulfil his potential over fences but certainly has the ability to play a prominent role here, while Good Thyne Jack and the unexposed Carrigeen King are others likely to take a hand.

Little form of note and a tentative vote is awarded to HIGH AMENITY. The French-bred mare has been far from disgraced in her last three bumper appearances, most recently finishing a respectable fourth at Tramore behind Howyakeepan beaten less than four lengths. Twelfth Of Never also has some respectable form in the book, although her latest performance at Cork was a little disappointing. Grangeclare Gold and On Galley Head have both shown a little promise and could improve again.
