By the very conditions of this race, it's a minefield for punters as it involves horses who haven't placed first, second or third. SHAKE HIM UP attracted plenty of support at Down Royal last month before finishing fifth. The horse in third has since proved good enough to win a Killarney maiden hurdle by seven lengths, so Shake Him Up has a clear chance. One Free Man can improve for better ground. He ran fourth on soft ground in Roscommon earlier in the month when gambled on. Synone's recent fourth in Downpatrick brings him into contention. He represents the in-form duo of John Ryan and Shane Fitzgerald.

A good race. BENNYSTIARA was a clear-cut winner of an opportunity maiden hurdle in Roscommon and is certainly going the right way. She has shown a fondness for ease in the ground, though, so this is going to be a new test for her. Being by Kayf Tara out of a Beneficial mare, it is reasonable to assume she will handle this ground. Whosgotyanow made a winning start to life with Andrew Slattery in Kilbeggan and has to be respected. Lady Lingo appreciated nice ground when making virtually all at Navan in June. Toor Moment showed a good attitude to rally for victory in Wexford. Robyndeglory is bidding to snap a run of three runner-up berths in a row.

ROYAL RECITAL is in good form and can make the breakthrough after a pair of runner-up finishes. He was collared in the closing stages over this trip at Navan before being nearest at the finish when beaten over two miles at Tramore. He runs well on good or fast ground. Sight Nor Seen sprang a 40/1 surprise in a Navan maiden hurdle. He is a horse who didn't complete in any of his seven point-to-points, but he jumped notably well in that Navan assignment on good ground. He has been given a mark of 98 and Shane Fitzgerald claims 7lb from him, so he has plenty in his favour. Top weight Supreme Vinnie is entitled to come on plenty from his comeback seventh at Tramore. The veteran has won over fences at this venue. Master Cornwall is up in trip, but has been in reasonable form since April.

BENBULBEN BOY was a smooth victor of a maiden hurdle over a similar trip at this track in May on jumping debut. Afterwards, jockey Keith Donoghue commented that he will be a grand horse for the summer so this son of Yeats should appreciate better ground. Ornua made all to win a small-field chase in Tramore so arrives in good humour. Mike O'Connor's 7lb claim is clearly very handy. He will enjoy this ground. Ornua hasn't been out over hurdles in almost a year, though. The Getaway Star has plenty of good form in the book, particularly behind Skyace. She was no match for a hot favourite in Kilbeggan, but that horse is clearly going places. The ground may not be ideal for her, though.

COOLNACRITTA could be useful recruit for trainer Mark Fahey. June was a good month for him in Britain as he won a handicap hurdle at Hexham (runner-up obliged on his next start) and then was pipped by a short head under a 7lb penalty in Uttoxeter. The winner, the third and the fifth in that Uttoxeter race all boosted the form on their next starts. Jack Kennedy has been booked for the ride. Miss Arccol travelled well in Sligo before getting outgunned on the run-in. She is on a dangerous mark.

CORNERKOVA ran well off the front in Kilbeggan before being collared approaching the last. He could go one better, with Mike O'Connor again taking 7lb off his back. Different tactics may have to be deployed, though, as Jack Holiday always likes to get on with it. Time And Times has been placed in his last couple of handicap hurdles and first-time blinkers could eke out a bit more. A good run from Royal Recital in the 5.40 race on this card would bode well for Gendarme, who beat him by two and a quarter lengths in Tramore. All The Angels was prominent for a long way in Killarney before coming home third. It is now two years since his last victory, but he has his chance.

FORGETTHESURPRISE was very impressive when cruising in by 13 lengths over 2m6f in Navan, and should make her presence felt over this longer trip. She had a fair spin in third on the Flat in Bellewstown at the start of the month, which should have her ripe for this. Fire Love was the horse who came home a remote second in that contest and connections will think she can get closer on 12lb better terms. Swiss Brid was a solid second over an extended three miles in Kilbeggan and will be aiming for a cheque. Balgowlah makes the long trek down from the north after performing well in second over a staying trip on soft ground at Roscommon.

PRINCESS SOPHIA could be a different proposition on this better ground. She travelled well on debut at Punchestown but couldn't pick up in the straight. That was on soft ground and the daughter of Elusive Pimpernel ought to enjoy this much better ground. Littel Flour was only beaten by a neck at Down Royal after being prominent throughout. She has claims. Hi Stranger showed enough when runner-up on debut to suggest it won't be long before she lands a bumper. The Sea Moon filly kept on well to get to within a length and a half of the winner. She now gets blinkers. Denise Foster's Elusive Sea is highly likely to improve for better ground and from a fifth place on debut at Punchestown. She also introduces Clady Bridge, who is worth a market check. Ask For Fame was beaten four lengths into second by a useful-looking newcomer at Clonmel in June. Sandymount Baby is surely much better than her debut run in Roscommon. Again, this ground should aid her cause.
