Randalls Ur Poet has been knocking hard on the door of late and has claims if reproducing the form of his Gowran second last month. Preference, however, is for the less exposed STAR MAKER, who shaped with promise when fourth on his NH debut at Cork and is entitled to improve with the benefit of that outing now behind him. Any money for Viking Hoard, a Flat winner making his debut in this sphere, would also be interesting.

EX PATRIOT makes plenty of appeal on these terms and if running to a similar level of form as to when third to Jezki in a Grade 3 contest at Tipperary in October, he could take plenty of beating. Sandsend, a winner on the Flat in France, is potentially the fly in the ointment now having his first start for Willie Mullins. The pick of the remainder may be Destin D'ajonc, a hurdles winner in France last year who now debuts for Gordon Elliott.

TIMMIE ROE gets the tentative vote in a trappy-looking maiden hurdle. His Clonmel fourth represented improvement on his previous seventh at the same venue and another forward step here would give him leading claims. Johnny Sue struck between the flags recently and is worth a market check now racing under Rules. Gordon Elliott's Kickham is another who is worth a second look in the betting and makes a little bit of appeal on his Punchestown sixth last month.

AL BOUM PHOTO made a good start over fences when comfortably disposing of Tycoon Prince at Navan last month and this Grade 2 winner over timber can gain his first Graded success in a race that doesn't look the strongest of contests. Tombstone got his career back on track with a Grade 3 success last time and looks the most solid danger, while Tout Est Permis looks best of the remainder.

PAT'S OSCAR has been a very solid performer since joining Gordon Elliott in the summer and a return back to handicap company can bring about the required improvement with Chris Meehan taking 5lb off. Rosie Alice fell when last seen over fences in a Grade 3 at Roscommon but is interesting back over hurdles for a shrewd outfit, while Monastery could improve on her handicap debut.

BLACK SCORPION sluiced up at Clonmel last time when putting his rivals firmly in their place and the 7lb rise from the assessor should be no issue at all here as he attempts to follow up. New headgear could revive the fortunes of Crosshue Boy and Captain Bizarro, while Tongie appears to be heading in the right direction and could play a part here off a 2lb lower mark than when third last time at Tramore.

Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott are almost always the main players in this sphere and the Cullentra house handler holds strong claims with Cornakill Rose, who has not been disgraced on her bumper outings so far. However, Charles Byrnes' MINNIES SECRET shaped with promise when second over course and distance last time and she could be the one to side with here. Western Victory and Aoibhe's Beau have useful point form to their names and are others who must be considered.
