Willie Mullins has his string in better form than usual for the time of year as he bids to retains his Galway leading trainers' title next week, and IOLANI can give the master of Closutton another July winner. The five-year-old was outpaced in a Flat contest at Bellewstown three weeks ago but is bred to appreciate hurdles and this half mile in increase in distance. Absolute Grit showed plenty of improvement last time out and he is another who should be suited by the trip, while Joseph O'Brien's Mischievious Max should have learnt plenty from his recent hurdles debut 11 days ago.
IOLANI showed plenty of ability in bumpers and could be the way to go on hurdles debut for his leading yard. Mischievious Max who showed an aptitude for this job when fourth at Sligo 11 days ago is fancied to capitalise should the selection fail to fire.

Penny Jane didn't win in the manner of an odds-on shot at Perth last time out, though she should appreciate racing against her own sex and the services of Davy Russell once more. Kings Dolly looked progressive prior to be pulled up at Kilbeggan last time out but she will have to be very good to get the better of MISS SAPPHIRE, who landed that very same contest. The five-year-old seems to handle any ground, is a battler, and continues to improve for a team enjoying a fruitful summer so far.
This is between MISS SAPPHIRE and Penny Jane, with the former a confident choice to come out on top given that her Kilbeggan second is comfortably the best piece of form on show and she's displayed a good attitude up to now. Kings Dolly isn't a complete no hoper if she can put a dismal run behind her.

SILENT SUN was narrowly denied by a game winner at Cork a fortnight ago and this looks to be a nice chance for compensation despite a 4lb rise for those exertions. The seven-year-old should appreciate conditions and could account for Island Villa, whose only two efforts in the last 12 months have come in the last seven weeks and both have been highly commendable performances in competitive contests. Rathnaleen Girl had her excuses last time out when pulled up and could be one for value seekers.
ISLAND VILLA looks to be building up to something based on his latest Downpatrick third and is taken to notch a belated second career success. The son of Robin Des Champs fell on chase debut but he was much better in a hot Wexford race over fences earlier this month and perhaps this longer trip will prove the key to him. Cable and The West's Awake carry penalties after recent respective successes, while the remainder arrive with something to find.
THE WEST'S AWAKE readily drew clear from a stronger field than this when making a winning chasing debut over C&D, so it's not hard to envisage him following up 5 days later unless the unexposed Bull Ride can make a big leap forward from his own encouraging start over fences.

With plenty of these arriving here in questionable form the preference is for AT RAINBOW'S END, who has finished second twice in her three chase starts to date. She bumped into a decent prospect last time out and that form makes her the one to beat this evening. Sharlanda has run well in both starts since switching to her new yard and her third-placed finish over C&D last time is rock-solid form. Flaviana has been disappointing in her last few starts but is a player based on her form from earlier in the year.
SHARLANDA went the right way as a hurdler and, having jumped adequately, finished with a rattle on her recent chasing debut so, with the benefit of that experience, she's well capable of getting off the mark in a relatively weak beginners' chase. Flaviana is the classiest type in the field but recent finishing efforts are a concern, so At Rainbow's End might prove a more solid alternative.
