CARTHALAWN has only been out of the first two once in nine starts, winning a NH flat race. He has run up a frustrating sequence of four second placed efforts to date over timber, and is surely worth one more chance in this company. Wild Ocean looked good in bumpers but has yet to shine over timber. He could run into a place, but a bigger threat looms in the shape of Marinnette, who shaped with some promise at Wexford last month on her debut over timber.

Gilt Benefit is a surefire future winner over hurdles and after two solid efforts in 20-runner events at Tralee and Clonmel, she would be a worthy winner of this contest. Kiltown Katie ran well for an outsider on her hurdling bow at Cork earlier this month and she merits respect, but the vote goes to OILY COLMAN. Successful in an Irish point back in February, she showed her first piece of worthwhile form over timber at Gowran over 3m last time and can improve to land the spoils here.

Another Notice and MAJOR JON both enter this race in winning form and they are both sure to go well. The former was a comfortable winner over 2m at Wexford on soft ground last month, but the selection romped home in effortless style by 12 lengths on heavy ground at Clonmel and may just hold sway in this event. Tushna is sure to have his supporters, while value seekers should have a small each-way investment on Ballylough Lady.

Dun Drinan has yet to win a race under NH rules but he was a game winner of a 3m point-to-point last time and is entitled to a second look here. Watershed is still a maiden over obstacles but his best chase form will take him close. GLABEJET has a couple of point-to-point wins to her name and has also landed a race over regulation fences. A beaten favourite in a 3m handicap chase at Thurles last time, she has the ability to plunder this prize.

5

Sheebadiva made all to score on her debut over timber, but faded late on in her follow up bid on heavy ground at Cork earlier this month. This longer trip may not be in her favour and recent Gowran winner LADY KATE ELLEN gets the nod. She stayed on in determined fashion that day to score over 2m 4f and she will not be troubled by the extra couple of furlongs this afternoon. Good Thyne Jack returned to winning ways over 2m 5f here earlier this month and he will be there or thereabouts.

BALLISTRAW looked a nice prospect when storming to a 12 length success in a 3m point-to-point on heavy going earlier this month and can make a winning debut over regulation fences. Chasing debutant Hardy Fella is sure to attract plenty of support, but a bigger threat looms in the guise of Rock Snow Drop. A frustrating maiden over hurdles, placing eight times in 15 starts, she won a 3m point-to-point last month and will have been well prepared for her first outing over regulation fences.

Strand Line looks an interesting newcomer and any significant market support should be noted. Designer Grey won a 3m point back in May on good ground and his form so far in this sphere suggests that he is short-list material this afternoon. CARRIGLEADE ran well for a long way on his debut in a similar contest at Downpatrick last month, eventually crossing the line in third place, beaten just over 9 lengths. He will improve and can open his account at the second time of asking.
