REGAL WAYS has edged closer to the target in each of her three visits to the racetrack thus far and she could prove difficult to beat for last year's winning stable if taking another step forward. Colorada has displayed a fair level of ability in both of her starts at Newmarket and another big run looks in the offing, while debut Newbury third Crystal Zvezda cannot be ruled out either.

SHARQEYIH lost little in defeat when a neck second on her introduction over this trip at Newmarket and normal improvement should see her go one better. She might not get things all her own way, however, with Alfajer showing she also possesses plenty of ability when a close-up second on debut at HQ, while the betting market could tell us more about the chances of newcomers Sur Empire and Krafty One.

LONGSIDE has produced two solid performances on this surface at Kempton and Wolverhampton earlier in the month and he probably wouldn't need to improve too much to open his account. Swot has been tested in much better company since a short-head second on his debut at Newmarket and he could return to form now having his sights lowered, while Horseshoe Bay, a 250,000 guinea purchase who holds an entry in next year's Epsom Derby, could well be worth a second look in the betting market ahead of his introduction.

LEONARD THOMAS built on his Kempton maiden success when runner-up in a 1m course handicap and with the potential to improve again for this extra quarter-of-a-mile, he gets the vote to defy a 2lb rise. Little Buxted warrants plenty of respect returning to a venue where he has done well in the past, while Rome is certainly no forlorn hope on his first handicap start since finishing a close up third off a 3lb higher mark at Kempton in August.

A whole host of these have chances, so WATER HOLE receives what can only be a tentative vote. John Gosden's charge is best off at these weights with a top rating of 103, she has placed form at Group 3 level under her belt and is one from one at this venue. Meeting Waters seldom runs a bad race and produced a career best performance when runner-up in this company at Ascot latest. She should be in the firing line again, while seven-time winner Dutch Rose is unlikely to be far away either.

TAMASHA could barely have won any easier on her introduction in a 1m2f Salisbury maiden last month and likely to improve for this longer trip, she is taken to follow up. Hidden Gold must be considered on her first start in Pattern company after impressively notching up a handicap double at Musselburgh and over 1m4f here, while Spacelab hasn't done a great deal wrong in both visits to the racetrack thus far and, like Hidden Gold, she is proven at this track.

Andrew Balding has his string in cracking form at present and INTRANSIGENT could bring the Kingsclere handler further success. The Trans Island gelding arguably produced his best effort yet when landing a competitive 15-runner handicap at Ascot last time and with the return to the all-weather not a concern (three from 10 on this surface), he looks sure to be in the firing line again. Athletic has been running consistently well and merits consideration, while Prince's Trust and Music Theory might both be able to rubbish lacklustre performances on their latest outings.

It could pay to side with the consistent POUR LA VICTOIRE, who deserves a fourth career victory after striking the crossbar in two starts at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Bookmaker has to be respected lining up off the same mark of 59 as when running well the last twice, the first time on this surface at Kempton, while Bertie Blu Boy and Lead A Merry Dance make up the shortlist.
