COSTA PERCY has taken a big step forward since going over hurdles and was impressive on his latest start over C&D, a race that did fall apart to some extent but it was hard to be negative against his performance. Despite giving away a double penalty, he looks the one to side with. Kereman is an interesting newcomer for Dan Skelton and warrants a market check, while Plato's Kode has been in solid form on the Flat and could be successful over timber.

MCGROARTY was no match for Hestina on his hurdling debut over C&D last month but the son of Brian Boru is capable of taking a step forward on his second start for Dr Richard Newland, and the first-time tongue tie should also assist. Saxo Jack has shown a solid level of form on the Flat and is one to watch on his hurdling debut, while Justice Knight was unlucky to slip at Stratford and looks best of the remainder.

RED RIVERMAN arrives on a hat-trick after backing up his 2m Uttoxeter romp over 2m1f at Stratford. Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge now has a further 3lb rise to contend with but has won here over hurdles, and over the trip, so has plenty to recommend him. Trafalgar Rock may be able to build on his Uttoxeter third now fitted with first-time cheekpieces and has place claims, likewise Domtaline, who steps up in trip after scoring off 6lb lower at Cartmel and finishing seventh at Bangor on Friday.

A TAIL OF INTRIGUE kept on well at the finish when third over 2m7f at Worcester in June and had no sort of race when falling at the third at Newton Abbot last time. If none the worse for that tumble, Nicky Henderson's charge could feasibly land a second chase victory. Mister Don is 5lb higher than when finishing second in the Highland National at Perth and has place claims, likewise C&D winner Strumble Head, who is up 7lb for his recent victory at Newton Abbot.

Fergal O'Brien landed this prize last year with a similar type to BLUE COMET and this recent course scorer can double up after his impressive success just two weeks ago. The six-year-old needs to brush up his jumping but should be suited by an increase in distance and this race shouldn't hold any fears. Supreme Steel's 8lb rise for a recent Uttoxeter success is largely negotiated by Charlie Hammond's claim and he looks poised to go well, with first-time blinkered Moidore another name to consider.

Dr Richard Newland's Beau Bay wasn't far away at Uttoxeter when a narrow second and the handler could still be getting to the bottom of the six-year-old with the potential for more to come. Saucysioux makes a first start for Olly Murphy and cheekpieces and a tongue-tie are quickly utilised, while Tiradia could have more to come off a mark of 88. However, a chance is taken on NORSE LIGHT who has won over hurdles off a higher mark in the past and could be sparked back to life by a return to timber and the application of a visor.

SKY OF STARS looks set to continue Olly Murphy's fine start to his training career, with the Stratford scorer backed to follow up off just a 5lb higher mark. Get Ready Freddy could be the main danger and is sure to be involved following his 16-length chase win on his first start for Dan Skelton. He now switches back to hurdles looking very well treated. Philip Kirby often does well here and his Arabian Oasis should be much sharper following a couple of recent spins on the Flat. He was second on his last hurdles start and can complete the shortlist.

Chris Grant's STRONG TEAM has plenty of experience to his name and has been slowly progressing with each start. It is interesting Brian Hughes does the steering once again and he is backed to improve on his Perth third to lay down a serious challenge. Irish raider Soleglad has to be of serious interest and the son of Scorpion was a handy winner at Stratford on debut, while the form of Lookforarainbow's third last time is working out well with the winner following up twice since.
