MANJAKANI, rated 100 on the level in his prime, made a winning start to his hurdles career at Stratford and built on that stylish 12-length victory with a narrow beating under a penalty at Newton Abbot. John Ferguson's charge is giving weight to all but Alderbrook Lad, but is still considered the most likely winner. Alderbrook Lad has place claims under a double penalty, while recent Towcester second Desert Robe looks best of the rest.

HOLD COURT was in the process of running a big race when coming to grief at the last at Newton Abbot and providing that experience hasn't left its mark, Evan Williams' seven-year-old, having his third start over fences, should be capable of opening his chase account. Wake Your Dreams was third over track and trip when last sighted and has claims along with Ainsi Fideles, who might improve for the fitting of first-time blinkers.

Mister Wiseman is 7lb higher than when winning this race 12 months ago but has claims if building on his recent Fontwell fourth. Preference, however, is for THEATRELANDS, who scored on his chase bow at Leicester in December and and looks well treated in this sphere considering he struck off 4lb higher over timber last year. The fitting of a first-time tongue-tie could unlock some improvement from Jonjo O'Neill inmate Spoil Me, too.

FOUNDRY SQUARE turned in a creditable effort over 3m4f at Stratford and is expected to build on that third-placed effort now reverting back to this shorter trip, over which he's a previous winner. Eased 1lb for his return to handicaps, David Evans' eight-year-old gets a tentative nod. The Nephew steps up in distance after two recent spins over 2m1f at Newton Abbot and should be respected, as should recent Ffos Las scorer Traditional Bob.

Barizan could attempt to make all dropping back in distance slightly and he won't be far away if reproducing the form that saw him finish second in the Swinton at Haydock in May. Australia Day rolled back the years when scoring over fences at Kempton on his latest NH start, but hat-trick seeker GOLD FUTURES makes most appeal as he's open to a lot more improvement and gave the impression he was some way ahead of the handicapper when bolting up at Kelso.

Listen And Learn represents the in-form Jonjo O'Neill yard and must be taken seriously at the summit of the weights, but of more interest is C&D winner MASTER OF THE HALL, rated as high as 151 over fences at his peak. Now trained by Micky Hammond, he regained his confidence with an impressive track-and-trip success last month, for which he's earned an 8lb rise in the weights, and he's taken to repeat the dose while evidently on good terms with himself. Bowie is another to consider.

LOST IN NEWYORK can regain the winning thread now he has slipped down to an attractive mark. Last successful off 79 at Leicester in December, he has run some nice races in defeat this year and connections have found him a good opportunity. Gravitate is interesting making his handicap debut for a shrewd handler and the market should tell us more, while King's Road can also get involved.
