Les's Legacy was unlucky when coming to grief at the second last on his latest outing when his saddle slipped. He runs off the same handicap mark, but Dillan Hurst takes the ride and knocks off an additional 8lb. Nonetheless, he has been temperamental in the past, being well beaten on his penultimate outing and pulling up the time before, so preference is for ROBERT JOHNSON. The four-year-old ran a below-par fourth last time, but drops down in trip here which could be a plus given he lost third in the closing stages. He makes his handicap debut off a mark of 94, but Peter Coleman's 10lb claim makes him look feasibly treated. William Cody cannot be discounted following a good second last time and completes the shortlist.

BROKEN QUEST is hard to oppose given his two recent wins, most recently over this distance at Ludlow. He stepped up 7lb from his penultimate win to claim victory again by three-and-a-half lengths, suggesting a further 6lb rise shouldn't bother the 10-year-old. Both recent wins have come on good ground, so he should handle the going perfectly again. Via Dolorosa cannot be overlooked, having run in three consecutive Grade 3s in April. He is carrying top weight, but Philip Armson takes off 5lb due to his claim, and this shouldn't be too much for him to handle given his win by 20 lengths during his last run in this class off a 5lb lower mark. Jerrysback has dropped 3lb from his last outing but his losing run now stretches back to December 2018.

OSLO wasn't disgraced in his two hurdle runs at the back end of last year, finishing fourth on his most recent outing over this course and distance. He was only five lengths behind a horse who has won twice since, so Fergal O'Brien's charge can take this prize despite returning from an almost six-month break. Our Star In Heaven may have a fitness edge over the selection and sports a first-time tongue tie, which may improve him. Quid Pro Quo is another to watch following a wind operation.

Plenty of these are in need of a revival apart from DANNY WHIZZBANG, who appeared in good form when comfortably seeing off his rivals at Huntingdon last month. That was over fences, so he gets to run in this off the same mark and he may be able to capitalise at the main expense of Jay Bee Why, who has the potential to improve for this step up in trip. Art Approval is not out of things either, while the Nicky Henderson-trained Brave Eagle could also have a say.

BENITO got off the mark in fine style at Chepstow last month and an 11lb rise for that success may not be enough to prevent Tom Lacey's charge from going in again. Infiniti finished second here last November and has changed stables since, so must enter calculations along with Pateen, who hinted at a return to form when placed at Newcastle last month. Completing the shortlist are Crakehall Lad, Goldrapper and Methusalar.

An Marcach came home fifth in a selling hurdle on his first start for new connections, but he seems likely to have been well schooled since then and has some acceptable form over fences in Ireland. He may prove a serious danger to top weight SEEMINGLY SO, a course winner over hurdles and third in a better race at Perth last month. A tongue-tie is added, looking to eke out some improvement, and with his stable in good form he has every chance. Le Tueur has placed in his last three races off this mark and may do so again here.

Egbert was only beaten seven lengths on his first start at Hereford when staying on into third and, if he has learnt from that, he ought to be a major player here as well. HANDS OFF was well supported ahead of his debut at Warwick, but pulled too hard before fading in to sixth. If he settles now with that run under his belt, he could put in a bold bit to recoup losses here. The Geordie Ginge is another of interest, with his yard more than capable of winning these events when they have the right ammunition.
