The hurdling debutant Leslingtaylor and the improving High Calibre are well worth a second look in the betting and should not be underestimated if attracting strong market support, but it could pay to concentrate on Steve Gollings' INDIAN PIPE DREAM. He was highly-rated on the level and should have learnt plenty from his respectable hurdling debut in much stronger company.

Phillip Hobbs' recent Flat acquisition DESERT STORM is probably worth following here as he makes his debut over timber. The 4yo gelding proved fairly useful on the Falt last year and scored on his latest appearance in that code over 2m in testing conditions at Nottingham. Jonjo O'Neill's Charmahal is down in class and could go close, along with Oscar Jack who appears very capable on his day.

The progressive 3yo EVER SPECIAL should complete an impressive four-timer here despite a 7lb penalty that he carries for his latest success at Leicester. He stepped up in class that day but rose to the challenge and proved his ability with a bold front-running display. Optimum's best would certainly put him in the picture, but Suprendre Espere may be the biggest threat, currently racing off an attractive handicap mark.

A small but competitive field and the tentative vote goes the way of Venetia Williams' STAN. He travelled well for a long way before tiring on his reappearance here last month, but should strip fitter for that run and may be able to regain the winning habit on only his fourth attempt over fences. Master Papa is up in class but can't be ruled out, whereas Roman Ark, a classy sort on the hurdling scene, has yet to sparkle in this sphere.

Robihoo was a place behind Standin Obligation on his sole appearance over fences back in May and looks likely to play a part in the finish again if fully tuned-up for his return. Slight preference, however, is for CARIBOU, who proved himself over the smaller obstacles with a comfortable victory here in April and has shown enough promise in two decent chases to suggest he'll be winning in this sphere before long. Only Vintage can't be ignored.

A trappy contest and several boast decent claims. Kitski and Pass Me By are in good shape but step up in class this afternoon, so it could pay to concentrate on Richard Fahey's charge EXSTOTO. He spent over two years on the sidelines before a winning return in October and despite a below-par effort at Cheltenham last month, there could be much more to come from him. Evan Williams is flying at present but his gelding Nayodabayo is only 3lbs higher than when scoring at Sandown last month.

Grant Tuer's veteran Through The Rye battled on gamely behind the useful Torkingking at Hexham on Wednesday and may find Nicky Richards' charge PREMIER DANE too good here. The latter demonstrated his quality by getting within eight lengths of Triumph Hurdle winner Detroit City at Aintree in April and he's been contesting some valuable heats on the level over the summer months. A winning return to timber would not be a shock, with Tous Chez likely to pose him most problems.
