This could go the way of BLUE NYMPH, who made a successful switch from the all-weather when landing a 2m 1f event at Doncaster on her hurdling debut. She was impressive that day and, dropped in grade today, she may be capable of following up. Veronica's Boy is more experienced over timber than his rivals here but has something to find to land the spoils and a couple of newcomers to the hurdling game, Astracad and Park Lane, could pose bigger threats to the selection.

Ranjobaie looks a progressive sort but has made jumping errors on his three starts to date. However, the gelding, unbeaten in three starts in bumpers, would pose a real threat if putting in a clear round. Stablemate Proud Presence could be given a chance on his excellent second over 2m 4f at Ascot and Irish point-to-point winner Sandynow won a Warwick maiden hurdle in impressive style and is another to consider. Preference, however, is for BYGONES OF BRID, who has already scored twice over hurdles. His neck success over 2m 6f at Newcastle last November is by far the best form on offer here and his latest success, over 2m 4f again at Newcastle, demonstrated he's in good heart.

OVER SIXTY looked a fairly modest hurdler but showed her appreciation for the switch to the bigger obstacles when forging clear of her field to score over 2m 6f at Fontwell on her chasing bow. This looks no more difficult a task and she should take all the beating today. Although second over 2m 5f at Uttoxeter last month, It's A Discovery was beaten a long way. Nevertheless, she looks the one for the exacta while Lady Bernie was a progressive sort over timber but her long absence is a worry on her chasing debut.

In an open-looking contest, it could pay to stick with VIVARINI, who struggled over timber for much of last year but has won his last two starts in some style. He's up a massive 13lb today but appeared to win with plenty in hand over 2m 5f at Huntingdon last month and could be open to further improvement. Baileys Benchmark has put in a couple of good efforts recently, including a close second over 2m 3f here, but has more to find to escape the grip of the handicapper. Seven Stars, a progressive sort, and Take It There, who has won twice over fences this season, are others that come into the reckoning.

Carrickmines landed a double over fences at the end of last year and continues to run well but looks in the grip of the handicapper now. Donald Will Do has finished second in his last three starts, going close at Southwell and Leicester, but is rising in the weights all the time and needs to improve to land the spoils. MOCHO scored over 2m 4f at Chepstow on his chasing debut. He has found 3m 1f a trip too far over fences and hurdles since but has been given a chance by the handicapper, drops in class and trip and could provide the answer to this puzzle.

Several of these can be given chances on their winning form between the flags but the experience of FATHER MURTAGH could give him the edge today. The Irish import has run four times in similar contests to this, being placed twice, and his best effort gives him every chance today. Pristine Condition is a prolific scorer in point-to-points but needs to improve on a disappointing effort in his only outing over fences when pulled up over 3m at Leicester. Rash Move is another useful sort between the flags but hasn't run this season, while Crack At Dawn scored in a point-to-point last time out but has failed to make the frame in 14 runs over hurdles.

Sebennytos looks a useful sort on breeding who could go well on his debut but might find a couple of the experienced horses too good for him. Aviador was a decent third at Southwell first time out and may appreciate this longer trip while Bless The Wings showed up well when sixth over this trip at Huntingdon on his debut. Preference, however, is for MAC AEDA, a very easy winner over 2m 2f here only his only outing. He has been off the track for nine months but only needs to be back to somewhere near his winning form to land the spoils today.
