UK debutant DREAM BERRY improved with every start at in his native France last year and he was an impressive winner on his last start at Auteuil in October. Since then JP McManus has parted with 205,000 euros so secure the son of Dream Well and he could prove to be a class above his rivals today. Colla Pier was second in a moderate Listed contest at Newbury on her penultimate start and she was not disgraced when 10th in the Coral.ie hurdle at Leopardstown since. Ballycamp and Closest Friend also feature on the shortlist.

A wide-open contest and the marginal preference goes to KERROW, who was still going well when parting with his jockey at the sixth hurdle at Doncaster in February. He had proven to be a reliable performer prior to that and his close fourth to Always Lion at Ludlow in November is arguably the best piece of form on offer today. Young Dillon should continue his streak of placed finishes, while Minella Experience looks to be the best of the rest.

This is a very weak race for the grade and it is hard to oppose recent Southwell winner MIDNIGHT CHORISTER. The race he won on that occasion was arguably stronger than this contest and the only doubt would be the softer going. Sir Pitt was still going well when taking a heavy fall at Taunton last month and he could prove to be the main danger. Coozan George and Discay also have their chances.

Plenty of these did not complete when last seen and it is hard to be confident about the chances of any of the participants. MONT ROYALE just gets the nod based on his early season form, where he picked up a handicap hurdle at Southwell prior to four consecutive runner-up finishes. Friendly Royal is another who did well in the first part of this campaign, while Raktiman is also worthy of respect.

QUIETO SOL won on handicap debut at Exeter last time and a 6lb rise shouldn't inconvenience the son of Loup Solitare. Alberta should improve on his second at Wincanton earlier in the week now upped in distance and Brian Boranha could have more to give now in handicap company.

EXPRESS DU BERLAIS was disappointing when last seen here in the Lincolnshire National, but a three-month break, a drop in distance and a return to better ground all look positives for Dr Richard Newland's charge. Red Admirable appears the main danger coming back down in distance and having been dropped 5lb since pulling up at Warwick last time, while Fine Parchment remains consistent at the veteran stage and can go well again here.

Alan Swinbank has an excellent record in bumpers and saddles the well-bred CODESHARE, who is related to Group 1 winners Timepiece and Passage Of Time and could use his Flat speed to full advantage against the National Hunt breds. Just Minded looks the most interesting of the remainder, being a half-brother to Coral Cup winner Diamond King who was deeply impressive when tackling bumpers in his younger days, while Sierra Oscar represents connections who do well in bumpers.
