Bucephalus showed improved form to score with any amount in hand last time and should go well in this follow-up attempt, likewise last month's course and distance winner, Rubipresent. However, fair flat performer ANDHAAR made a highly promising hurdling debut when chasing home a useful sort at Cartmel and can go one better getting plenty of weight from the two previous winners. Hypnotic Gaze should not be left out of calculations after a good first effort over timber.

Balnagore and Choctaw Nation are hard to separate on their latest running when first and third respectively at Kelso last month. The former is worse off here but looked the more resolute of the pair and is possibly open to greater improvement. However, J'ADHERE could not have won more easily last time at Towcester and is hard to oppose on that evidence for his in-form yard. Everaard (engaged to run at Uttoxeter last night) was much improved when runner-up at Wetherbyrecently and cannot be discounted.

This looks a solid opportunity for IKORODU ROAD on his return from an absence of nearly 200 days. A useful hurdler, his sole chase outing produced an excellent second behind Rivaliste in a competitive Newbury handicap and a repeat performance should suffice here. Edgeover also has an absence to overcome but rates the main threat, with the race-fit Another Trump most likely to benefit if the aforementioned pair fail to fire.

SALTAGIOO was a comfortable scorer over the rather disappointing Souter Point last time and can supplement those gains here on this first venture into handicap company. The Dr Devious gelding enjoys good ground, clearly likes a sharp track and his yard is in prime form. There are plenty of dangers with Stage Acclaim and Bathwick Man, both solid and consistent sorts, nominated as the main dangers. Wot Way Chief and Consulate also merit respect in an open contest.

CHERNIK has plenty on his plate off this mark but gave a really good account last week when third to the heavily punted Irish raider, Bale O'Shea, in a competitive Wetherby handicap. He'll go close if in the same heart today. Indian Pipe Dream goes well at this venue and rates the main danger after useful recent efforts. Shrewd Investor was far from disgraced behind Neptune Equester last time and is definite shortlist material.

Terenzium has excellent claims on his latest effort behind Tarvini but all of his best form has come at Wetherby. Therefore, it might be wiser to row in with KILSHANNIG is entitled to strip all the fitter for his sound comeback effort behind Command Marshall at Fontwell recently. He hails from the same yard as Tarvini so his stable enjoy a good line to the form. Marlborough Sound scored with plenty in hand at Towcester recently and cannot be ruled out.

The Swinbank yard's strike rate in such contests is well documented and PRICELESS ART will prove tough to crack despite giving weight away all round. His three outings combine to set a decent form standard for his rivals to aim at. The betting market should deliver the best clues about the newcomers but Tealissio and Fill The Power make most appeal at this stage. Up And Away has shown enough in the point-to-point arena to be worth a second look.
