AARDWOLF finished second in a similar event at Hereford last month and he can be supported to go one better this afternoon. Ilewin Geez may a pleasing return after 1018 days off the track back in February and his moderate effort at Kempton last month is excusable. Royal Flag is a dual winner on the Flat but will need to improve upon his hurdles debut to beat the selection today.

SILVER TASSIE has been knocking on the door in recent months and that includes his narrow defeat at Kelso last month. A 4lb rise in the ratings will make life tougher for him today but he can be supported to earn his fifth career victory. Gonalston Cloud is another who merits a place on the shortlist based on recent form, while Maestro Royal and Shady Glen are also of interest.

Very few of these have recent winning form but THE BLUE BOMBER was successful here in late March and he only found one too good on his sole subsequent start. War At Sea has shown some minor promise in novice events and he makes his handicap debut, after a wind op, off what should be a workable mark. Others to note are Pronto Tonto and Emmas Dilemma.

DUKE DEBARRY was a rare runner for Seven Barrows at Carlisle when landing the odds last month and the seven-year-old is fancied to go well once more. This better ground and step up in trip look likely to suit and he can take advantage off a fair handicap mark of 122. The form of Lex Talionis' Wincanton win three weeks ago might not be that strong, with Theatrebar preferred as a bigger danger given his scope for improvement over this sort of distance.

15:45 Market Rasen (Class 5) (4YO plus)

Dormouse makes his stable debut for Olly Murphy at the age of 13 and warrants a market check under handy 5lb conditional Fergus Gregory, while Doctor Thea is considered following a 65-day break. Alizee Javilex remains lightly-raced for an eight-year-old, but a safer punt could be BENTONS LAD. A winner at Southwell last month under this rider to shed his maiden tag, the penny looks to have dropped with him now and a 6lb rise might not be enough to prevent another success.

NORSE LIGHT was readily beaten when last seen over fences at Wincanton, but had won over C&D the time before and is fancied to go close again with Sam Twiston-Davies back in the plate. Cafe Au Lait could potentially take a step forward on recent form with a switch of headgear to first-time blinkers, while similar comments apply to Flow With Eve with Aidan Coleman taking over in the saddle.

TOO MUCH TOO SOON returns to racing under Rules for Dan Skelton, having ran in point-to-points throughout last summer, and it would be no surprise were he capable of a fair amount of improvement with the yard doing very well with similar purchases. Mahlerdramatic was runner-up over 2m3f here on his most recent start and can prove competitive once again off the same mark, while a return to Market Rasen may suit Elkstone as he ran a blinder at the track in November.

Potters Tale has ran some decent races so far in his career despite finishing down the field on his last two starts, behind Danny Kirwan at Kempton and Sebastopol at Ayr. This looks an easier task and he can take a hand. Peachey warrants respect on his debut for the Olly Murphy team with Aidan Coleman taking the ride, but the vote goes to TOKAY DOKEY. He who comes from a yard that can get one ready for bumpers and is fancied to make a winning debut.
