RAYMOND TUSK is an interesting recruit to hurdles as he has shown plenty of ability on the Flat, and was even sent to contest the Melbourne Cup in 2019 when trained by Richard Hannon. Although he disappointed at Goodwood last time, he was placed in two valuable handicaps prior to that and if he can translate that form to this sphere, he will be tough to beat. Oslo made an encouraging start over timber at Plumpton and could be in the mix here, while Peejaybee is another to note after winning a bumper at this venue in February.

Moonamacaroona appeared to be making a promising debut over obstacles here in October before she unseated her rider four from home and it would be no surprise to see her feature prominently in this contest. However, FAIRFIELD FERRATA ran well when third in a strong-looking affair for the grade at Sedgefield, a performance that was better than the bare result as she was hampered by a faller. She gets the vote, while Doireann is not without a chance if she can take a step forward from her first run for Stuart Edmunds at Chepstow.

CHILLI FILLI brings some strong form to the table after finishing last campaign with victory in a similar race at Perth. That win followed a respectable display in the Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and she looks the one to beat in this contest. Momella was well beaten behind the selection when last seen but is not without a chance if she can bounce back from that and reproduce her win at Exeter on her penultimate start. Organdi took a big step forward when winning at Exeter last time and she is another to consider.

Everything points to a massive run from STARSKY, who represents a stable in red-hot form and ran a blinder on his chasing debut over 2m7f at Worcester last month. He is entitled to improve in terms of fitness, but also for the addition of first-time cheekpieces. Hunny Moon could similarly step forward from her debut outing over fences at Worcester five weeks ago and she rates the biggest threat, ahead of Jimmy The Digger.

There didn't appear to be any fluke about STEEL WAVE's victory over an extended 2m6f at Stratford last time and a 6lb rise in the ratings might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Fresh New Dawn arrives following a couple of solid placed efforts at Perth and he is likely to be in the shake-up again, while San Agustin may improve for his comeback fifth at Bangor.

NEAR KETTERING has won both here and at Carlisle on his latest couple of hurdling appearances and, despite a further 6lb rise in the ratings, he is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Macho Mover rates a serious danger, though, having only narrowly failed to supplement his Newton Abbot selling hurdle success in this grade at Stratford. Mister Sweets also has a squeak on his debut in handicap company.
