GIOVANNI CHANGE is a multiple course winner, including over track and trip, and comes in here on good terms with himself following a smooth Wetherby triumph. The veteran is taken to go in again at a course which clearly suits, with Mt Fugi Park arguably the main danger if his jumping stands up. Ladronne is another to bear in mind.
The 12yo Ladronne holds solid claims back chasing - he ran okay over hurdles last time but is better over fences - and he should go well at the very least, but MT FUGI PARK is back down to his last winning mark and was bowling along merrily in front at Carlisle last time when coming down. It was too early to say he would have won, but the headgear is retained here and he's got the best rider in the race in Gina Andrews. Giovanni Change won this 12 months ago and looks a big threat having returned to winning ways at Wetherby last time.

DIAMONDS GALORE was pulled up at Kelso latest but drops markedly in class for this maiden hurdle against her own sex and previous form suggests she should take plenty of beating. Newbury bumper winner Chatty Girl is the main danger and has shown ability over hurdles in four starts, while Georgia's Charm rates best of the rest for Fergal O'Brien.
A weak race and it looks a good opening for DIAMONDS GALORE, who looked progressive until failing to fire in a Class 2 handicap last time - she'd finished runner-up on each of her three previous starts. She can prove too strong for Chatty Girl, who has been running well enough but may be ready for a step up in trip. She's still taken to follow her home, ahead of Georgia's Charm who stepped up on her initial hurdling effort when fifth at Ludlow last time.

Point-to-point winner JIMMY HURDSTROM has shown enough ability over hurdles, not least when finishing a solid third in a Warwick handicap last time, to suggest he ought to go very close in a maiden like this. Plains Drifter was a beaten favourite over C&D last month but still performed well enough and cannot be dismissed. Manalishi is another to consider closely.
There's not that much between JIMMY HURDSTROM and Plains Drifter but Tom Lacey's runner seems the most likely winner given he's twice run to a fair level in handicaps and now drops back into a maiden contest. He stays 3m but has the pace for this trip and one would expect a forward ride. Plains Drifter has shown enough to win races but handicaps might be more his things. This is still a good opening though and he could easily put it up to the selection. Manalishi isn't ruled out either, having shpaed well on his hurdles debut at Doncaster. The longer trip here should be right up his alley.

Ruler Legend readily won over an extended 2m here nine days ago and is expected to go well again, but LORD CHAMBERLAIN might have his measure this time. He's less exposed and could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up at Hereford recently. That was his handicap debut over hurdles and with improvement forthcoming, he can cope with a 7lb penalty. Play Pretend is noted too.
LORD CHAMBERLAIN bolted up on last week's handicap debut at Hereford, travelling strongly and drawing right away. He's penalised now but could still be well ahead of his mark and his capable rider claims a valuable 5lb. Ruler Legend is in a similar boat as a recent winner turning out again quickly under a penalty. He's getting plenty of weight from the selection but lacks the same potential. Play Pretend is returning from 174 days off but has gone well fresh before and has conditions in his favour. He's quite capable of a good run.

This isn't the deepest of contests and it is JIAIR MADRIK that shades preference. Donald McCain's gelding is still getting the hang of things over fences and wasn't disgraced at Bangor last month. Should recent wind surgery work the oracle, he might prove capable of better. Grain Trade won here back in October and should be thereabouts along with Catchim.
A weak chase that can go to GRAIN TRADE, who likes it here, having won over further at the course in the past, and shaped well considering the race didn't play out to suit him last time. He's well above his last win mark but has shown he's capable off a mark in the low-90's. A wind op could have done the trick for Jiair Madrik, who has hinted at promise and could prove suited by the drop in trip on better ground. He's the danger ahead of Catchim, who is a maiden but a capable one and has conditions in his favour.

An open contest, not least because four of the five participants arrive on the back of a win, because even Kayce Dutton finished a creditable second last time. The vote goes to SOUTHOFTHEBORDER though, who might have been underestimated by a 3lb rise given that he defeated a subsequent winner at Kempton last month. Icare Colombe, Cuban Court and Singapore Trip each have reasonable claims too.
Fergal O'Brien's Icare Colombe appeals some, having won well at the course last time and looking well worth a rise in grade. He's been raised 6lb but has more to offer as a lightly raced 8yo. The selection, though, is SOUTHOFTHEBORDER. He's most consistent and could be buoyed by his last-time-out Kempton success. Conditions are in his favour and he's taken just a 3lb rise. Singapore Trip won well despite jumping left at Wetherby last time, but he wouldn't want to be jumping that way going right-handed here. He's still third choice ahead of Cuban Court, who has been in red-hot form but is something of a Doncaster specialist and has an 8lb higher mark to deal with here.

BLUEY was turned over at cramped odds in a Listed contest at Wincanton in February but Emma Lavelle's otherwise progressive chaser is fancied to bounce back in these calmer waters. That too could be said about Pendil runner-up Jasmine Bliss, whilst She Is For Me Boys should benefit from a return to further. The likeable and consistent Molto Bene shouldn't be underestimated either.
A good-quality mares' chase in which the top weight JASMINE BLISS makes plenty of appeal after she ran up against the really useful Jax Junior in the Grade 2 Pendil novice chase at Kempton last time. Her mark has risen by 4lb but she's probably still on a good mark and is fancied over Bluey, who could improve for getting back on a sounder surface. She's been in good form anyway since having a wind op and could easily return to winning ways. Ruby Island, a last-time-out winner at Haydock, and Molto Bene, a good second at Leicester last time, appeal also with both being on a fair mark after taking small rises.

Nicky Henderson's filly Numero Ventotto merits the utmost respect, as does Doncaster runner-up Batchelor's Lad. Sea Lord is James Tate's first ever runner in this sphere and he warrants a market check with that in mind.
Several interesting newcomers in this but BATCHELOR'S LAD showed plenty on his debut at Doncaster, finishing runner-up behind a promising winner, and given he's a half-brother to Listed Flat winner/smart 2m hurdler Jason the Militant, improvement is to be expected. He can take this, although Nicky Henderson's newcomer Numero Ventotto has to be respected give her trainer's overcall record in bumpers. She's getting loads of weight. Royal March and Sea Lord, both from respected stables, the later from a good Flat one, are of strong interest also.
