Races at Catterick hold the key here with both Karyon and SOUTHERN BAZAAR having recorded wins in similar events there. Taking the former first, it was her first win for over three years, whereas the latter is very consistent and has since run with credit in handicap company. Perhaps a bigger danger to the Chapman horse comes from the runner-up in his win, Sea Cove who failed by only a neck that day, reopposes on the same terms and can be forgiven subsequently pulling up on desperate ground at Catterick.

AHMEDY holds solid form claims in this event, so is expected to add to his solitary win. Psychic Star is gradually getting to know what is required of him, while Pantherus is a live contender from the Jonjo O'Neill yard. After a quiet debut at Wincanton the latter showed marked improvement at Taunton and can be expected to figure in the finish. Market support for Dariak should be noted as he would surely have been placed on his debut for Paul Webber but for the saddle slipping.

Although only five line up and there are just three to concentrate on, this looks a cracking little heat. Salhood has been off since December and is the outsider of the three fancied runners. The Tim Easterby-trained Pay Attention has only limited experience over fences, but the manner in which she has taken to them suggests she can match her hurdling achievements. However, Ferdy Murphy's consistent KITSKI is the pick. He is rarely far away whether it be over hurdles or fences and another notch on the belt looks likely.

Caesar's Palace is beginning to look useful over timber and if continuing to improve will be there when it matters, but Turbo seems to be always knocking at the door without actually opening it. Respect is accorded to Catchthebug due principally to the connections rather than achievements on the track, but with the champion in the saddle he must be thereabouts. However, a tricky little puzzle can be solved by KEEN WARRIOR who, after stringing together a nice series of results, got his head in front at Uttoxeter.

Honest Endeavour regained winning ways at Hexham last time out, but needs to prove it was not a one-off. As a result, Assumetheposition, who recently bounced back to form after some indifferent runs, could be the danger to SEAFIELD BOGIE. Tom George's gelding was really impressive when winning at the tough Towcester course earlier this month and a 7lb penalty may not stop him landing the hat trick today. Ferdy Murphy runs Show Me The River who put together a good series of results prior to a couple of poor efforts and has been given a break to freshen him up.

King Eider has not raced under rules since August 2005, but should be monitored for support. Silver Streak, despite his advancing years, still has something to offer and could give GOOD BONE a run for his money, but the selection (who is a mere ten years old) has already run two good races this year and arrives here with a solid favourite's chance. It might need something special to lower his colours.

Jumeirah Jane was staying on well at Uttoxeter just over a fortnight ago and left the impression that there is a race like this in her, while there is surely more to come from Felinious going by her fourth place at Newbury. The vote goes to ISSAQUAH, however, as Malcolm Jefferson's mare showed plenty of promise when making a winning debut at Hexham and then appeared to find the soft ground against her at Wetherby.
