A few fingers have been burned when SWIVEL has been unable to justify his market position in three hurdling starts, but he was unlucky to unseat his rider when short of room at Stratford, and might be sharpened up with cheekpieces fitted for the first time. Holly Bush Henry is a leading danger after making a encouraging hurdling debut behind a now 121-rated rival at Southwell. The useful Flat horse Knightly Escapade completes the shortlist on his return to hurdling.

EL MASSIVO was sent off favourite for a much more competitive 0-130 handicap hurdle at Stratford when last sighted over hurdles, and could be tough to stop now moving into plating class. Changing The Guard is only reluctantly passed over, though, as he also lowers his sights from much stronger company. Clock On Tom looks the pick of the remainder after getting the better of Roja Dove (finished third) and Regal One (finished fifth) in a similar contest at Stratford.

Towering arrives fresh from a second success over hurdles at Worcester and has to feature high on the shortlist. There is a suspicion that conceding weight to the top-rated NUMBER ONE LONDON will be a particularly tough task, though, as that rival ran in ultra-competitive company at Glorious Goodwood and was just touched off at Uttoxeter when last sighted over timber. The useful chaser Standing Ovation is impossible to discount completely, and it wouldn't be a massive shock to see Bandit Country run well.

This race looks to revolve around C&D winner MANHATTAN SWING, who finished a highly commendable third in the ultra-competitive Summer Hurdle at this track in July. He looks tough to oppose in this company, but perhaps Don Padeja can give him something to think about, as he conceded plenty of weight to his conqueror when runner-up at Stratford and looks to be coming into form. Ruler Of All was a creditable runner-up at Uttoxeter latest and looks the pick of the remainder.

HANDMAID hinted that she has fallen to a workable mark when finishing a close third at Uttoxeter in July, and the application of cheekpieces might eke out the necessary improvement required here. Mission Complete is an intriguing contender as he won this race two years ago and might be rejuvenated by a return to timber. Solway Prince trailed the selection when last sighted but it would be dangerous to rule him out, while his stablemate Solway Sam arrives fresh from success and has to enter calculations.

POLSTAR hadn't played his hand when coming down three out at Newton Abbot and the booking of leading conditional jockey Sean Bowen looks a big boost to his chances. The handicap debutant Prince Of Poets makes plenty of appeal as he was good enough to win a Lingfield 'junior' bumper on debut and has the scope for further progression in this sphere. Tennessee Bird had the selection in arrears when fourth at Uttoxeter in June and shouldn't be overlooked, and Top Spin is worth a market check on his first start for a new handler.
