An open renewal of the Summer Hurdle in which Rajnagan attempts to land the five-timer for last year's winning trainer Paul Webber. Preference is for FAIR GALE who appears to have taken to the jumping game since making the transition in June. The 87-rated Flat horse has quickly earned a rating of 118 in this sphere and open to plenty of improvement, he could still be some way ahead of the handicapper potentially well treated. Street Entertainer is one to watch out for.

Arctic Reach carries a penalty for winning on debut over this distance at Stratford but with Tony McCoy in fine form, there would be no surprise to see the champion jockey in winning form again. Slight preference is for the Ffos Las winner COOL NEWPORT who receives a handy fillies allowance and will be suited by the fast ground she is likely to encounter. Janet's Pearl, who is rated 67 on the Flat, makes her debut over the obstacles and should also be considered carefully.

The Strawberry One represents a model of consistency this term but has a tough task on her hands at the top of weights. For that reason, preference is for STRUMBLE HEAD who has what it takes to step up in class here and be competitive. Distance form in the book will hold him in good stead and the 8lb rise in the ratings doesn't appear overly harsh. Life Of A Luso should be considered a danger, likewise Zakatal.

Last year's Summer Plate winner Grand Slam Hero returns for another bite at the cherry but is a full 24lb higher in the ratings and has a tough task on his hands to record back to back victories in this race. Classic Swain can be troublesome but must be considered for champion trainer Paul Nicholls but NORTH ISLAND gets the nod as the nine-year-old looks well treated towards the bottom of the weights and his winning C&D form is a huge plus.

Recent Uttoxeter winner PADDY THE HARE looks to hold all the aces in this novice contest and the jockey booking of Tony McCoy speaks volumes of his chances. Champagne Style makes his jumping debut and is one to keep an eye on but the main danger to the selection may come in the shape of King Olav, who returns to the National Hunt scene after a recent spin on the Flat.

PRINCELY HERO goes in search of the four-timer here and is up just 1lb in the ratings for a recent success at Southwell. This looks a smart piece of placement, unpenalised for that success, and the son of Royal Applause will take all the beating. It would be dangerous to rule out the chances of I'm The Decider and particularly French Ties, who is tried with the tongue tie for the first time and this could spark the desired improvement.

Exulto sets the form standard and is likely to prove a popular choice for the Philip Hobbs and Richard Johnson combination but preference is for PROFESSOR HIGGINS who is down to what looks a winnable mark and this could be his chance to bounce back to winning ways on fast ground that is ideal. Stagecoach Amber may struggle off this mark but Kikos is worth considering closely having held his form well this term.
