Smart Flat performer DAL HORRISGLE left his two previous hurdling performances well behind when winning by 34 lengths at Uttoxeter last time and, open to further improvement, he can complete the double. All-weather bumper winner Socks Off made a pleasing start to his hurdling career when third at Hexham and, receiving the weight-for-age allowance, he makes slightly more appeal than Gms Prince for forecast purposes.

This won't take a great deal of winning and, from the bottom end of the weights, AL KHERB looks the one to beat following his second off a 1lb higher mark at Hexham. Sid Hoodie has undergone wind surgery since finishing fifth at Fakenham in May and is now just 2lb higher than when winning three starts ago. She's certainly not out of this, nor is handicap debutant Simple Rules.

Hang In There was an impressive all-the-way winner at Stratford last Sunday and is effectively 3lb better off today with Joe Anderson's claim taken into consideration. He and Hooper, who has won his last five starts, must enter calculations, but CAMPROND rates the one to beat. He placed in high-class handicaps at both Aintree and Haydock before easily justifying skinny odds over C&D last time and can strike off this mark of 134.

CAPTAIN TOM CAT arrives here having won all three of his previous chase starts in very impressive fashion and the progressive six-year-old should be very hard to beat once again this afternoon. Solomon Grey was still in with a big chance prior to unseating his rider in the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter last month and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection. That said, Darling Maltaix and Francky Du Berlais are others who could go well.

GIOVANNI CHANGE won well twice prior to finishing a close third in a decent event at Aintree when last seen over hurdles in May and that form gives him a big chance this afternoon. Taste The Fear has filled second place in each start either side of his victory at Uttoxeter last month and he should be thereabouts once again. Breaking Waves edges out The Distant Lady to be the pick of the remainder.

15:50 Market Rasen (Class 3) (4YO plus)

Betway Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

A trappy contest but the vote goes to SAINT DE REVE, who has been in consistent form of late and remains unexposed over the larger obstacles after just five starts. Seven De Baune is most feared after a promising second at Hexham last month, while the step up in trip could illicit further improvement. Sunset Showdown arrives with a few questions to answer and may have to settle for third.

Age is just a number as they say and the evergreen VALSEUR DU GRANVAL has proved that in no uncertain terms recently with back-to-back wins at Ludlow and Huntingdon. He can follow up here at the expense of Larch Hill, who had been running very consistently up until a major blip at Worcester last month. The former Margaret Mullins-trained gelding Makka Pakka also catches the eye on just the second run for his shrewd new connections.
