Skylark Lady won the first juvenile hurdle of the season at Hexham when having Stone Quercus a well beaten third but that form cannot be taken at face value. Preference goes to newcomer ITSAMYSTERYONE who is related to some fair jumpers and represents powerful connections. Daring Knight and Milrow are two others who could well benefit from going hurdling, the former having shaped with promise in maidens on the Flat.

Watch out for: Daring Knight (1)

ITSAMYSTERYTOME represents a top yard and makes appeal on paper, so is worth chancing to make a winning start under Richard Johnson. Skylark Lady sets the standard on her Hexham debut win earlier this month, while any money for hurdles debutant Milrow would have to be taken seriously.

IL PRESIDENTE was turned over at odds on at Towcester last month but should improve now making his handicap debut. The son of Royal Dragon was once considered good enough to have a crack at the Aintree Bumper but has clearly had his issues since. Patronne is another entitled to improve on her form to date in novice hurdles now making her handicap debut, while Nicki's Nipper warrants respect following her big price win at Cartmel last time.

This looks like an excellent opportunity for MANHATTAN SWING to get off the mark over the larger obstacles after an excellent chasing debut at this racecourse just a fortnight ago. The six-year-old has shown a liking for this track in the past, winning twice at the Lincolnshire venue over hurdles. Brian Ellison has booked leading northern rider Brian Hughes once more, and he can take the beating ahead of Party Rock, who is versatile with regards to conditions but has always shaped like an Aintree specialist. Golden Doyen has had a few attempts at chasing without getting off the mark, but has been unfortunate to bump into some talented rivals and could do better here.

ART OF LOGISTICS can be given another chance to confirm the promise he showed when third on his debut for this yard at Newbury in April. Mister Spingsprong has only found the useful Keltus too good in two starts since returning from a break and he can be in the mix once again. Indian Stream has been a rapid improver since joining this yard just over a year ago, while Gentleman Jon and Minella Forfitness are also worthy of consideration.

ART OF LOGISTICS can be expected to improve at some point for Philip Hobbs and, given his latest effort is excusable, he's well worth another chance to build on his promising start for the stable. The upwardly-mobile Indian Stream is a clear danger and Mister Spingsprong isn't fully exposed as a chaser.

FOR 'N' AGAINST has proven to be extremely frustrating for his supporters but he has found himself in a race that lacks any strength in depth. It is also worth noting that he is officially 3lb well in today having finished second at Fontwell 10 days ago. Sirius Star won over 2m5f here last month but needs to bounce back from a moderate effort over a slightly shorter trip here recently. Grand Gigolo and She's Late both need to improve but the latter would be the pick of that pair.

Watch out for: She's Late (3)

FOR 'N' AGAINST probably wouldn't be one to take too short a price about given the doubts about his resolution in a finish, but he posted his best effort yet over fences when second at Fontwell last week, and is taken to land a very winnable affair. Grand Gigolo looks the principal danger.
