Dan Skelton boasts a strong strike-rate here and positive market vibes about his newcomer Knotty Ash - a 45,000-pound purchase - could be significant. However, FAMILY TIME definitely showed an aptitude for hurdling when keeping the David Pipe hotpot Koi Dodville honest at Hexham earlier this month (Space Kid 20 lengths away in fourth) and that form received a boost when the winner went on to defy a penalty in a better race at Aintree next time. Oliver Greenall's hurdling debutant Andonno, a moderate dual winner on the Flat for Mark Johnson, looks the most interesting of the remainder.

Dylan's Sea Song put some indifferent form behind her when winning well at Huntingdon last time but the ensuing 6lb rise could leave her vulnerable, while the same could be said about Fancy Shapes, who has been raised 4lb for winning a moderate event at the same venue last month. Instead, any value here could lie with handicap debutant MIRACLE EAGLE, who travelled well for a long way on her first start start since December in a stronger-looking race here last month. She ought to strip fitter now and is potentially well treated. Amy Of One wasn't given a hard race after a first-flight blunder at Bangor last time and is another handicap debutant worth noting.

Trappy stuff given that leading form chance Master Templar showed his quirky side by running out at Uttoxeter on his latest start, while No Fixed Charges' jumping issues resurfaced at Worcester last time (fell when booked for second). With that in mind, this could be a good opportunity for the improving WHO'S THE GUV'NOR to atone for a narrow defeat over course and distance last time when he was only reeled in late by Design Icon, though any sort of market move for Richard Newland's Wigglesworth would have to be noted as he returns from wind surgery.

Moderate fare and seemingly a big chance for TOPKAPI STAR to regain the winning thread. The filly hasn't really kicked on since scoring a neat victory at Uttoxeter on her hurdles debut, but there were clear signs of better to come when a close-up fourth on her return from a break at Huntingdon last month. Similar comments apply to Black Lightening who, following recent wind surgery, ran her best race since 2019 when third at Southwell last month, while Bizerta also has to enter the equation having also finished third at Huntingdon last time.

BLOOD EAGLE has proved popular in the market on both hurdles starts since switching to handicaps without quite hitting the mark, but his latest second-placed effort at Plumpton suggested that it is only a matter of time before he finds a race and he remains one to be interested in off his present mark over a longer trip. Midnight Aurora could have a credible case made out for her on the pick of her form (has won off a 4lb higher mark), but she blotted her copybook with a sub-par effort at Southwell last time and recent Newcastle winner Ballycrystal may prove a bigger threat back on a sound surface having floundered on softer ground last time out.

Ballyholme has only ever once finished out of the first two in nine starts at this track and has obvious claims of notching a fifth course win, though he holds few secrets from the handicapper these days and DEYRANN DE CARJAC - Alan King's only runner on the card - could be the better treated. A winner off just a 3lb lower mark at Huntingdon two years ago, the gelding was making just his second start in 14 months when running well for a long way in a better race than this at Warwick last month and, given that he is likely to strip fitter now, he could take some stopping. Getareason is maintaining his form well for Rebecca Menzies and is also respected.

Hard to work up too much enthusiasm for any of these but IMPERIAL ACOLYTE has at least proved competitive in his last three starts in stronger company, suggesting he may be able to exploit a falling hurdles mark and snap the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard out of its current quiet spell. Regaby is no great shakes but did show improvement when chasing home an easy winner at Huntingdon last time out and he could prove the biggest threat, though Shady Oaks is a potential danger on best form and can be excused a dismal latest effort at Southwell after it was later revealed that he'd lost a shoe. Staple Head has been more miss than hit in the pointing ranks but Peter Bowen's form entitles him to a second look.

LANDACRE BRIDGE was the subject of an 80,000-pound stable switch to Henry Hogarth's yard after finishing a promising second on his debut for Ben Pauling at Ffos Las last month and this looks an ideal chance for connections to get an immediate return on their investment. For all that, The Wild Westerner and Huntsman's Call each shaped with a degree of promise first time out and can improve with experience to draw on, while the ex-Irish Lurgoe stepped up what he had previously shown on his debut for Ian Williams at Huntingdon last month and shapes as though having more to offer.
