GUNNERY endured a long spell on the sidelines but proved that he retains plenty of enthusiasm when narrowly failing to justify favouritism on his hurdling debut at Bangor. He then gave connections a day out at the Royal meeting, struggling in the Ascot Stakes to suggest his Flat mark of 90 flatters him, but he is a different proposition altogether in this sphere. Robin Of Sherwood won twice between the flags and may be the one to chase him home, with Yorbelucky possibly best of a moderate remainder.

LONGHOUSE SALE has been expertly placed to go unbeaten in seven outings, in a point-to-point, bumpers and three novice hurdles. Dan Skelton has decided that now is the time for his exciting five-year-old to show his true potential, and he may be up to giving weight and a beating to more experienced opponents. Olly Murphy represents a serious stumbling block because he saddles two major players in St Gallen and Valentino Dancer. Chef De Troupe lurks dangerously at the foot of the weights, whereas John Constable is much further up the list but won this two years ago off a 15lb higher figure.

GLOBAL TOUR has been a revelation since making the switch to the Fergal O'Brien stable, winning three of his four starts, most recently at Newton Abbot only last week. He has risen 21lb in just two months but the assessor may not have caught up with him yet and he is preferred to Native Fighter, who is up 3lb for his determined C&D triumph. Collodi also goes well here, with last year's win in this race evidence of that, while Glendun can step forward now he goes handicapping.

More Buck's gave Peter Bowen his sixth Summer Plate 12 months ago but he doesn't appear in the same sort of form and the Pembrokeshire handler has a better chance with last week's Newton Abbot victor Henryville. There are far less exposed runners than the 11-year-old in the line-up, though, not least GORTROE JOE, who has been freshened up since a facile C&D success. Casablanca Mix and Pacific De Baune give Nicky Henderson a good hand, with Trigger Nichol the pick of Richard Newland's pair. David Pipe is also double-handed, with El Terremoto of particular interest on his first start since leaving Nigel Twiston-Davies.

FOLLOW THE BEAR arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories having scored at both Aintree and Ffos Las over the past couple of months. Nicky Henderson's gelding went up 4lb for his latest victory and appears to have more in the locker. Present Ranger's sole effort in a handicap was too bad to be true at Bangor in November last year and he has subsequently returned this year winning twice, and the step up in distance is unlikely to pose any issue as he is a brother to Grand National hero Ballabriggs. Angel of Harlem displayed a good attitude when scoring over C&D last time and is respected off 3lb higher.

TALES OF THE TWEED is yet to deliver on the promise he showed as a novice hurdler in two outings since a long absence. However, a wind operation could see the son of Robin Des Champs take a big step forward on his second chase start. Blairs Cove didn't appear to see out 3m2f at Uttoxeter last time and could benefit from a pair of cheekpieces, while Francky Du Berlais and Heydour complete the shortlist.

LITTLE STEVIE has placed on his last couple of starts over fences and connections have secured the services of Richard Johnson which could see the seven-year-old take another step forward. Malangen can benefit from the drop in distance, based on his debut over the larger obstacles at Newton Abbot, while similar comments apply to Witness In Court, who scored over 2m at Perth two outings ago.
