SANGHA RIVER defied a long absence to score in fine style at Southwell on his hurdling debut and providing he doesn't regress from that performance, Olly Murphy's gelding will prove a tough nut to crack giving 7lb and upwards to his rivals. Silkstone placed in a couple of juvenile hurdles last season and is entitled to be competitive, while Pisgah Pike is of interest having had wind surgery since his first attempt over timber.

The application of a tongue-tie clearly made the difference with CZECH HER OUT as she made a winning return at Stratford earlier in the month. Michael Scudamore's mare is open to further progression now switching her attentions to handicaps and gets the vote to make it two on the bounce. Highland Bobby was fancied to go close on his first run of the year at Uttoxeter before being hampered and losing his rider at the first. A line can be put through that effort and he is respected along with Aleatoric, who outran his odds when third in a maiden hurdle on the same card.

ICONIC HERO hasn't always been the strongest of finishers with his return effort when fourth at Southwell proving that. That said, the drop back in trip, combined with the switch to fences, might unlock the improvement required for Dan Skelton's gelding to get his head in front. Tim Rocco is respected under a penalty following his success at Bangor last week, while Tricky Customer can enter the reckoning on his chasing bow.

COUP DE PINCEAU found the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival too hot to handle, eventually being pulled up before the second last, but he makes plenty of appeal dropping to a more suitable level, with the smaller field likely to be in his favour. El Presente's chasing debut form, when fourth at Huntingdon last November, would give him obvious claims with both a sounder surface and a wind operation positives to his chance, while Hepijeu (seventh) and Minella Daddy (eighth) will find this an easier assignment than they encountered at Uttoxeter earlier in the month.

CRAIGMOR won three on the bounce in 2019 before pulling up at this course over fences last June when reported to be flat by Richard Johnson. One of the aforementioned victories came in a novice hurdle at Wincanton in May and he appeals being rated 3lb lower over timber. Demi Sang is an interesting contender with the step up in trip potentially suiting him, while Jimmy Rabbitte is of interest in first-time cheekpieces having had a run at Uttoxeter earlier in the month.

SOMETHINBOUTANGELA may have been inconvenienced by a quick turnaround when a beaten favourite at Exeter in October and the seven-year-old is open to progression making her third start for Dr Richard Newland. Seaside Girl is better judged on her third at Leicester rather than her subsequent outing at Huntingdon with a wind operation potentially aiding her cause, while Grageelagh Girl and Meep Meep complete the shortlist.

This doesn't appear to be the strongest of contests on paper and it might present BLACK ANTHEM with the ideal opportunity to gain his fifth career victory. A winner over fences at Newton Abbot last August, he made a solid return when third over timber at Southwell on his debut for Tom Lacey and he is entitled to build on that effort. Ballycrystal Court won off this mark over C&D last season and could bounce back on his first start since January. Ever So Much and Anti Cool appeal most of the remainder.

There was plenty to like about ULTIMATE GETAWAY's victory on his Rules debut at Southwell and the 7lb penalty for that success is negated by Liam Harrison's claim. The six-year-old boasts plenty of experience in the point-to-point sphere and he can put that to good use once again. Dens Delight is a half-brother to Grade 2-winning hurdler Mille Chief and he warrants plenty of respect along with Rickety Gate, who represents a yard that have done very well in this sphere in recent years.
