CHOCCA WOCCA has improved in between her two runs in bumpers, chasing home the smart Hollies Pearl in a Listed heat at Aintree when last sighted, and is interesting now debuting over timber on her seasonal return. Awesome Rosie must shoulder a penalty but makes some appeal on her six-length victory at Wincanton on Boxing Day, while Miss Ranger has rattled the crossbar at Catterick the last twice and must also enter calculations.

CLEMENCY followed up her maiden hurdle victory over 2m at Ffos Las when landing a novice hurdle over the extended 2m4f at Huntingdon last month. This intermediate trip is unlikely to pose any problems for Nicky Henderson's five-year-old, who shades the vote ahead of recent 2m1f Sedgefield scorer Card Game and Miss Tiger Lily, who dotted up by eight lengths in a novice hurdle at Bangor last time and appears fairly treated.

WINNER MASSAGOT was soundly beaten in the Ladbroke when last sighted but makes some appeal on his earlier second to Rayvin Black at the same venue on his seasonal return. Cotillion (also entered at Ascot yesterday) steps up in grade after scoring easily in a selling hurdle at Wetherby and of more interest is Monyjean, who has struggled over fences the last twice but could be rejuvenated by the return to hurdles.

Ballyalton was a smart hurdler and found only Faugheen too strong in the 2014 Neptune. He has seemingly had problems thereafter, though he looked to be back on track here and if he runs after his departure from the Reynoldstown at Ascot on Saturday, he would rate the one to beat. In his absence, DEEP TROUBLE, a Listed winner over timber, would be the one to be on. First-time cheekpieces may liven up Wings Attract, while Lockstockandbarrel should be all the wiser for the experience gained on his chasing bow at Chepstow.

THE MUMPER's sole career win came over the hurdles track and trip in November '12 and he's expected to go well following a creditable performance at Doncaster. His second-placed effort behind Native Robin will have pleased connections on the back of a few indifferent performances and he remains on a decent mark. Uno Valoroso has been knocking on the door in starts at Catterick of late and is shortlisted along with Towcester scorer Mondo Cane.

TANNER HILL was most impressive when winning a similar handicap at Huntingdon by 13 lengths last month and although the handicapper has given him 1lb for each of those lengths, another big performance looks assured. Given his second-placed effort at Fakenham two starts ago, the son of Milan was no surprise winner at the Cambridgeshire track and there could be a lot more to come. Basford Ben and Salut Honore will be there to pounce if the selection falters.
