Nicky Henderson has a strong hand in this with Caracciola and Capitana. The former was a model of consistency last season, running some fine races in valuable handicaps and, after a recent pipe-opener on the Flat, he should make his presence felt today. Preference, however, is for stablemate CAPITANA who showed a handy turn of foot when winning in good style at Stratford six days ago. He looks on the upgrade and can defy a 5lb penalty to score here. Kings Quay is another worth considering.

Atacama King is likely to attract plenty of supporters after joining Charlie Mann following just one run on the Flat with John Gosden. Very well bred and with the right man to progress, he ought to win races, but the credentials of CALLISTO MOON look that bit stronger today. Second on both of his hurdle starts, he was only beaten 2 lengths last time and may have finished closer still but for a blunder at the last. He can make amends here under the Champion jockey. Devilfishpoker Com may fare best of the rest.

After two runs of the Flat, one of which resulted in victory, MEGATON returns to hurdles today and should be hard to beat. Having won six of his last nine starts, the selection has been placed supremely well by Peter Bowen and is a progressive horse who seems sure to enjoy another fruitful summer. A previous winner over this trip, he can hold off Mighty Fine who has been a revelation of late but may find a 17lb rise in the weights beyond him. Commemoration Day is another worth noting.

Ruby Walsh travels here for one ride and can reap the rewards by guiding HOO LA BALOO to victory in the day's feature. The selection was last seen chasing home Dempsey in the Grade 2 Celebration Chase at the end of last season and this accurate jumper must have a leading chance in what looks a competitive renewal. Briscoe Place remains capable of better then we have seen of late, while Lankawi may prove best of the Peter Bowen runners.

OSPREY VIEW made it three on the bounce with a ready victory at Uttoxeter 11 days ago and should be very hard to beat today. He looked to be unfavoured by race conditions the last time he met defeat and has not been extended since the adoption of front-running tactics. Golden Alchemist is a decent Flat performer and was a hurdle winner at the third attempt in May. He could prove to be the main danger with Instructor best of the rest.

MONTEVIDEO was a faller on his only chase start to date back in 2005 and has since demonstrated useful form over hurdles. He was badly outpaced before his fall that day and connections clearly feel that today's longer trip might help. In the hands of Tony McCoy he is taken to get the better of Love That Benny who claimed his first chase win over C&D last time and should be a contender again. Pass The Class has offered promise in his two chase starts and is another who warrants respect.

KING OF THE ARCTIC brings some strong form into this race having finished fourth to Tamarinbleu in the Perth Gold Cup on his penultimate start before holding off It Takes Time last month. Despite shouldering top weight he looks reasonably treated and, with Brian Hughes taking a valuable 5lb off his back, is taken to score over today's shorter trip. Classic Event was last seen finishing fourth to the useful Lennon back in December and is worth noting in the betting, while Royal Stardust is an interesting contender on his first chase start.
