A good second to very useful stablemate Detroit City in the Triumph Hurdle in March, Fair Along prepared for this with a decent outing on the level last week and is an obvious contender today. However, he has to give weight all round to older rivals today and it could pay to take him on with EAST TYCOON. Jonjo O'Neill's inmate returned to hurdling with an impressive victory at Stratford recently and may have got off lightly with a 5lb penalty. O'Toole scored with ease when last seen over timber in May, but is 12lb higher now, while Neveesou has been knocking on the door lately - they are both worthy of a place on the short-list.

EVER SPECIAL and Prince Bere look like the ones to concentrate on here. The latter showed ability in his native France - beaten less than a length on his last two starts - and looks sure to give a good account on his UK debut. Having shown nothing of note on the level, the selection defied his long odds to claim a good third in a similar C&D event on his hurdling bow last month and may have learnt enough from that experience for his stable to land a double in this race. Hurdling debutant Carr Hall would be of interest if the subject of any significant market support.

OSTFANNI boasts an impressive strike-rate over hurdles/on the Flat in the last 11 months and appears to be the one to beat today. She found 3m too far when last seen over hurdles but returns to this trip only 3lb higher than when scoring at Kelso in May and has already won twice on the level this month. Hat trick seeking Harrycat won with enough in hand when stepped up to 2m 6f at Stratford latest to suggest a 10lb hike won't prevent him going close again. The Names Bond shaped as though further would suit when landing a 2m 4f event at Worcester earlier this month and can also give the selection something to think about.

Following a victory over 3m 1f at Cheltenham, Sweet Diversion wasn't disgraced in a 4m Listed event latest but will relish the drop back in trip, while Full House has remained in good order on the level since scoring unchallenged over fences in April. Yes Sir has to be considered on the back of a five-timer but may have a bit too much to do back in handicap company and the preference is for TEVERE. After showing good ability in his native France, David Pipe's charge landed a decent 2m 4f handicap with the minimum amount of fuss on his UK debut and a 5lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to halt him here.

WIGGY SMITH and Ken's Dream can fight this one out. The latter's fall in a Grade 3 event in May is sandwiched between two victories and he should appreciate this step up in trip. However, Oliver Sherwood's charge is moving in the right direction and improved on last month's C&D victory to follow up in fine style at Perth. There could be more to come and he retains the services of Tony McCoy. Fellow C&D winner Absolutelythebest looks the best of the remainder.

Dual winning hurdler CROSS THE HIGHMAN just couldn't find enough at the finish when a good second on his chasing debut over an extended 2m 7f last month; he is open to plenty of improvement following that outing and will relish the drop in trip. Silver Dagger and Rich Song appear to be the biggest dangers having both scored over C&D last month, but they face stiffer tasks off much higher marks now.

GREEN FINGER stayed on strongly to land a 2m Hexham chase with plenty to spare last month and is 7lb higher now. He went close over timber latest but progress can be resumed back over the larger obstacles and the booking of Tony McCoy for the first time inspires further confidence. However, he will need to be at his best with Gone Too Far in the field. Timmy Murphy's mount advertised his current good order when headed on the line in a hurdle recently and filled the runner-up berth off this mark when last seen chasing. Swallow Magic, second over C&D latest, is no forlorn hope.
