The market should guide to the claims of Craic but he doesn't stand out on paper and, at this stage, it's best to look elsewhere. The suggestion is CALGARY BAY who has shown a decent level of form in two bumpers and is bred to fare better over obstacles. Likely dangers include Coe, Canny Bay, Desert Inferno and Exmoor Ranger whilst any market support for the ex-French Nikolaaiev would be worth noting.

John Quinn has very few runners in claimers but his strike rate in sellers is better than one in four and Archie Babe certainly has the ability to take this event. The market is likely to point the way but he has a bit to find with SUN KING at the weights and there are no concerns regarding the form or fitness of Keith Reveley's charge.

The useful Heir To Be should relish these conditions but there are some promising, unexposed sorts in opposition. Russian Trigger is one but clear preference is for THE VERY MAN who failed to justify strong market support last time but looked every inch the stayer and will relish this longer trip. Himalayan Trail makes most appeal of the remainder.

This should prove to be an interesting contest with SHERWOODS FOLLY, Jungleland, Le Briar Soul, Pass It On, Ruairi, Gidam Gidam and Shrewd Investor all having run well enough in bumpers and over hurdles to suggest that they can pay their way over fences. The suggestion is Henry Daly's runner, from Shrewd Investor whilst Ruairi could go well at a bigger price.

David Pipe enjoyed some success last season pitching horses into handicap company for their chase bows and Very Cool has to be of interest but this does look to be a stiff enough task. YOULL DO FOR ME is unexposed and gets the vote with Ice Bucket and The Dark Lord feared most.

Salhood has the ability but his profile has been rather hit or miss of late, Bang And Blame, Spring Margot and Eborarry are capable on their day whilst there should be more to come from Fu Manchu. Irish raider Tough Enough is of interest on his chase bow but a chance is taken with CYBORG DE SOU whose old form would entitle him to go close if he retains his ability after a lengthy absence.

Osako D'Airy finally got off the mark on these shores and may be able to build on that but he was hardly convincing and is worth taking on. REMAINDER could be the one to land the spoils if he handles this softer surface as he won well last time and appears to be a reasonably progressive individual. Maneki Neko may be best of the rest.
