RED JADE was a useful performer on the Flat and has done pretty well over hurdles so far, winning twice from four starts. The seven-year-old had plenty up his sleeve when running out a convincing winner in this grade at Worcester last time and he is expected to prove a tough nut to crack. Westlin' Winds was well beaten over fences at Uttoxeter latest but his previous hurdles success at that same track affords him maximum respect here, while A P McCoy is an interesting booking for Xenophon.
Crystal Rock shaped much better than the result at Wetherby last time, and is of interest with blinkers tried. Further rain would be a worry, however, and Red Jade is preferred on debut for Keiran Burke, having won in this grade last time.

JOSIES ORDERS shaped with an abundance of promise when finishing second to a Nicky Henderson-trained hotpot on his hurdling debut at Haydock last month and with that initial experience under his belt, he can go one better. His biggest threat could well come from stablemate Minella For Steak, making his first NH start today having lowered the colours of the smart Folsom Blue in a point-to-point last year. Alan King has been in fine form so Uxizandre should be worth monitoring in the betting ahead of his first start on these shores.
Uxizandre will take plenty of beating if repeating the form of his hurdles bow now starting out for a new yard. Jonjo O'Neill saddles a trio, including Minella For Steak and Josies Orders, both of who make some appeal, and the market will be useful in splitting the pair.

Changing Times is sure to prove very popular following two runner-up efforts in his two starts over fences so far. However, he could be worth taking on with MONTURGEON, who has always been held in high regard by Alan King. Things didn't work out for the five-year-old over hurdles last season but he still shaped with plenty of promise in finishing second on five occasions and his most recent second to Billy Merriott at Hereford looks strong form. A chance is taken on him on his chasing debut, with Soudain rating best of the rest on his first start over fences.
Changing Times has finished second on both starts over fences so far and is taken to go one better here. Monturgeon was also a regular visitor to the runner-up berth over hurdles last term and can start his chasing career in the same fashion.

All four of O CROTAIGH's wins under NH rules have come at this venue, three over this particular distance, and although he was well beaten here last time, he is just 1lb higher than when beating Midnight Sail here in March and he might just get his won way in front today. Midnight Sail has solid claims on the form of his Stratford second last month and Mr Hyde is also considered. Dawn Commander has not looked a natural in two runs over fences to date but he had some useful form over hurdles last season and should not be written off.
Midnight Sail possibly would have made a winning return at Stratford but for a bad mistake 3 out and can make amends here. Mister Hyde can follow him home.

Likearollingstone won well on his handicap debut at Southwell in August but a 12lb rise makes life a little tougher. Markadam and Flemi Two Toes both merit consideration on their return to action and Rock Relief holds claims, but a tentative verdict goes the way of JASPER MASSINI. He landed a Cartmel maiden hurdle over 2m2f in the summer and with the step up in trip expected to suit, an opening handicap mark of 108 could be within his capabilities.
It would be no surprise if Ulis de Vassy bounced back from a tame reappearance at Chepstow last month with his stable going much better, but Likearollingstone looks open to improvement following a comfortable handicap debut success in August. Flemi Two Toes completes the shortlist.

Billy Cuckoo carries a 7lb penalty for his Wetherby success last week but that is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Flichity posted his best effort since joining John Cornwall at Southwell last time and he is not ruled out but preference is for PICKWORTH. She finished well beaten here on her only previous run over fences but is now rated 8lb lower over fences than over hurdles so she can make her presence felt.
Flichity must go close if he turns up in the same form as at Southwell last time but he's rarely been one to string 2 good runs together and it might be worth taking a chance on Pickworth, who is well treated based on the form she showed over hurdles at the start of the summer.

Lean Burn comes into this in fine form and he looks sure to mount a bold bid to complete the hat-trick in spite of a 6lb penalty. Dark Energy disappointed when favourite at Ludlow last week but he is capable of better and should not be ignored. However, it might be worth taking a chance on ENDEAVOR. He has not been at his best of late but he has dropped back to the same mark as when landing this event 12 months ago and he has won twice for today's pilot.
Recent winners Dark Energy and Lean Burn rather stand out here. Testing ground would be a bit of a concern for the former so it's Lean Burn who is selected to notch a third win in 8 days. Stormy Morning looks best of the rest.
