Dandolo Du Gite impressed when a four-length winner at Stratford last month, but that victory came over 2m6f and the drop back in trip around this tight circuit may leave him vulnerable to speedier rivals. That opens the door for EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS, who showed a liking for this venue when landing a bumper here in September and can be forgiven his Cheltenham disappointment last time. He was still in with a chance on that occasion before fading away up the hill and may be much more at home on this flatter track and now tackling hurdles. Imperial Elixir is worth a market check, with 100,000 pounds purchase Seemingly So the pick of Olly Murphy's pair.

QUEEN OF THE WIND arrives here 5lb well-in having escaped a penalty for her recent success in a conditional jockeys' contest at Ffos Las and looks to make the most of the opportunity here with Tom Scudamore employed in the saddle. Stuart Edmunds took this last season and saddles his consistent Hillcrest Fire, who has been kept fit with a spell on the Flat, while Keep The River is an interesting recruit to handicapping following her success in an Ayr maiden last month.

JERSEY BEAN is unbeaten in three and has just kept on improving since upped in trip. He is of serious interest following his comfortable victory in a similar contest at Newbury last time and, having proved 3m is not a problem for him, can defy a further 9lb rise. Darcy Ward showed enough quality in novice contests last season to suggest this opening mark could be lenient, with Townshend interesting back over hurdles starting life with Nigel Twiston-Davies. Wotzizname is another reverting to the smaller obstacles and shouldn't be far away off a mark of 139 on the best of his form, while Clondaw Native could be a live outsider with the benefit of a run at Chepstow over fences under his belt.

It would be foolish to give up easily on DROVERS LANE, who was travelling like the winner in a competitive heat at Aintree last time before a mistake at the third last ended all hope. Rebecca Curtis' six-year-old was an impressive winner on his chasing debut before that and slightly calmer waters here can see him back to winning ways. Kayf Blanco was a frequent frame-hitter over fences last season and it would be no surprise to see him get involved once again, while Stratford runner-up Soupy Soups and the evergreen Curious Carlos are others boasting each-way claims.

The one that stands out is LOVE THE LEADER, who arrives here following a hat-trick of victories and that includes his chase success at Hereford on Monday. He won with plenty in hand on that occasion and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to stop this in-form gelding from making it a four-timer this afternoon. Ryalex was an easy winner at Carlisle 10 days ago and he arrives here 8lb well in, while Hard Station is the pick of the remainder.

A chance can be taken with DERRYNANE, who failed to fire when last seen 213 days ago but his previous form is more than good enough to win a moderate contest such as this. Hope's Wishes ran well at Hereford recently and would be the most likely beneficiary if the selection were to need the run. Rockliffe and Filemon complete the shortlist.

LITTLE JACK bolted up by 15 lengths on his debut at Fontwell back in June and he is the one to beat today based on that evidence, despite having to carry a 7lb penalty. Ruthless Article ran well on his debut for these connections a couple of weeks ago and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection. Although, Johnbb and Winningseverything are debutants to consider.
