The Jim Best-trained MOUNT BENGER was mightily impressive when winning a similar race at Folkestone ten days ago and, with Rhys Flint cancelling out a 7lb penalty, he can follow up with little fuss. No Supper could pose the main danger following his much improved showing at Towcester, while Blushing Hilary is worth monitoring for support in the betting market.

Kilkenny All Star was just creeping into contention when crashing out at Leicester 22 days ago and seems sure to go close here, but GUNS AND BUTTER gets the vote. He showed plenty of encouraging signs when fourth on his chasing bow at Musselburgh earlier this month and is sure to know more about the game now. Doncaster winner Victorias Groom is another that warrants respect.

A fairly moderate affair where a chance is taken on EASBY MANDARIN. He was by no means disgraced when runner-up over 2m4f at Sedgefield last time and should benefit from this step up in distance. Badger could give the selection most to think about following a promising effort at Towcester, while Chapel Flowers is another with claims on his return over fences.

14:25 Market Rasen (Class 3) (4YO plus)

Victory Gunner has landed this prize in each of the last three years and is unlikely to give up his crown without a fight, but BELLANEY JEWEL is selected to defy a 9lb hike in the weights. She won comfortably over 3m1f at Aintree a month or so ago and this step up in trip is certainly no cause for concern. Recent Catterick winner Gidam Gidam is also worth considering, despite a 7lb penalty.

15:00 Market Rasen (Class 4) (3YO plus)

Grange & Links And Sandilands Golf Club Novices' Handicap Hurdle

HEARTY DOVE appeared to have plenty left in reserve when getting off the mark over this trip at Wincanton some three weeks ago and, with that confidence-booster under her belt, she could take some stopping in her bid to follow up. Clear The Way should mount a bold bid if feeling no ill effects from his recent crashing fall over fences at Sedgefield, while Tiger Moss is another with solid place credentials.

In what looks a tricky end to proceedings, it could pay to side with PICAROON. He made a promising debut for the Tim Vaughan camp when third behind a useful sort at Chepstow earlier this month and a repeat performance could well be good enough. Or D'Oudairies was far from disgraced when fifth at Leicester last time and rates the biggest threat, while Deep Reflection is another interesting player.
