A good seller with General Alarm's front-running tactics well-suited to this sharp track. He'll go well, especially as he gets on well with his claiming pilot. Harry Potter finally obliged last time but this is tougher and Coronado Gold is reliable at this level and not underestimated, whilst Bolton Hall, regressive on the level, is an interesting debutant under Denis O'Regan. A chance is taken with MENDIP DANE, claimed out of the Nicholls yard (after one run) when a decent second at Worcester latest.

Tobago Bay stayed on stoutly on his hurdling debut to beat previous winner, Simarian, by half a length (pair clear) but now gives weight away to what looks an above average field for this time of year. Carry On Cleo, a winner on the level, represents David Pipe and Karashar showed promise in a Chepstow maiden on the Flat. However, Alan King introduced Katchit and Franchoek here and unveils POTEMKIN, whose latest third in a Lingfield handicap suggests he has sufficient ability to take a hand.

A useful novice contest and plenty with chances. Chrysander was more resolute than Ocean Du Moulin last time and jumps well. He's closely matched with Orpen Wide and Atticus Boy on Cartmel running when the Chapman gelding stayed on best to land the spoils. It should be tight again with Seymour Weld, a gutsy winner here last time, and smooth Huntingdon debutant, Dhehdaah, also well regarded. ZILCASH was the best of these over timber, has taken well to fences and is best followed until beaten.

Not many can be ruled out with confidence and TICKATEAL is a relatively hopeful choice. He's in good form over both hurdles and fences, remains well treated and appreciates summer conditions. Genghis looks sure to pick up a race sooner or later and recent runner-up performances at Worcester and Aintree reflect his current wellbeing. Aleron is worth noting as he likes it round here, while the lightly-raced John Diamond may have plenty more to offer. La Grande Villez and McEvoy are others to consider.

Malcolm Jefferson and Phil Kinsella have looked an impressive combination of late and if the frustrating Another Jameson can reproduce his second over timber last time he'll be a threat here over fences off bottom weight. Red Granite was a fortunate winner for the resurgent Kim Bailey yard at Southwell but this may fall to CAUGHT IN TIME. Jonjo O'Neill's 5-y-o travelled and jumped well before emptying late on at Towcester and looks sure to be suited by this shorter trip and easier track.

Some disappointing types line up here but LAURELDEAN MELODY is given another chance with trip and track likely to suit. She travelled so well at Wetherby for most of the 2m4f journey before failing to recover from a late mistake and may be good enough here. She's Humble, unlike many of these, is admirably consistent and looks the safest win and place option. Petrovka would be a threat if producing her best, while Akram is an obvious candidate if not 'bouncing' after his Uttoxeter second.

Plenty of in-form contenders and a trappy contest to unravel with FILM FESTIVAL a tentative choice to follow up his impressive Sedgefield victory under Robert Thornton, who is in the plate once again. Dancewiththedevil and Fuel Cell will need to improve again on recent wins to figure, while Scutch Mill and Boss Imperial are both likely to appreciate the quick conditions and easy track. Portvadie and Day To Remember are useful at their best but receive little respite from the handicapper here.
