FALBERTO got off the mark in a claiming hurdle at Ludlow earlier in the month and that performance suggests that he could play a leading role once again this afternoon. Mizen Master hit the crossbar when last seen over hurdles and he confirmed his well-being with a solid run on the Flat 12 days ago. Others to note are Ferrobin and Guildhall.

Plenty of these have claims but none more so than AWAY AT DAWN, who won at Bangor in July and he bounced back to form when a close second at Doncaster late last month. Across The Line is a player based on the pick of his form and he should not be underestimated. The shortlist is completed by Fletch, Get Your Own and Obey The Rules.

DAREBIN returned to winning ways over 2m at Sandown a few weeks ago and Gary Moore's eight-year-old should take plenty of stopping once again today, despite a 6lb rise in the ratings. Falcon Sun failed to fire in the same contest but he has had a wind operation since that outing and should not be discounted. Siannes Star and Theflyingportrait are others who are capable of making the frame.

GETAWAY MAG was an easy winner on her chasing debut at Southwell earlier this month for the Skelton team and could defy a 9lb rise in this tougher contest. The six-year-old remains open to plenty of improvement and might still be ahead of the assessor in this sphere. Imperil surprised a few people when a 28/1 winner at Doncaster last month but looked better the further he travelled there, while Galileo Silver has found one too good the last twice and deserves a change of fortune soon.

COOL DESTINATION was successful here last month for Fergal O'Brien and looked like a stayer to keep on side there despite idling after the last. The seven-year-old was better value for that triumph than the one-length winning margin suggests, and a 6lb rise could leave him ahead of the assessor still. Lough Derg Farmer ran a brave race when second at Carlisle recently for Sue Smith and might be suited by this bigger field, while recent Uttoxeter scorer Optimistic Bias is also noted for a trainer who has winners at this venue.

Jennie Candlish has enjoyed a good season so far and recent Musselburgh winner BARNAY could follow up under a 7lb penalty. The five-year-old made all there and could take this before a new mark comes into effect and makes life tougher. Cilluirid was successful at Catterick just over a fortnight ago and a rise is partly-negated by William Easterby's claim, while Say Nothing returned to form when finding one too good at Fakenham recently and might be better suited by this more conventional track.

Monarchofthegrange turned in an improved performance when second at Leicester over an extended 1m7f and may be suited by this stiffer test, but failed to land a blow over 2m1f at Doncaster on Tuesday. There could be further progress to come from Now Look At Me on his second start for Warren Greatrex, but COURTLAND looks the one to be on. He won with something up his sleeve at Uttoxeter and might improve again now up in distance.
