This is clearly WHISPERING SPIRIT'S level on the all-weather but she's also run with credit in decent handicaps on turf and, tried in this grade back on a natural surface, is taken to land the spoils. Royal Straight hasn't won for a while but has run well in handicap races and could prove a threat at this level, while Let's Face Facts and Goninodaethat can also be given chances.

It's possibly worth taking a chance on the veteran TRISKAIDEKAPHOBIA, who has won off much higher marks in the past. He seems to have gained a new lease of life of late, going down by just a head at Catterick earlier this month, and can go one better here. Novalist has turned in a string of good efforts this summer but may be in the grip of the handicapper now, while Cayman Fox has claims but needs her best.

Choisan has been placed in six of his nine starts but is starting to appear exposed and looks vulnerable. Brockwell put in a fine effort on his debut when fourth over 7f at York and must be considered, dropped in grade. Preference, however, is for Irish raider GOLDEN HALO. Following a decent introductory effort over 7f at Listowel, the colt missed out by a head at Roscommon but he can go one better with this extra furlong likely to suit.

It may pay to stick with LEXINGTON BAY as he chases a quick hat-trick. He's up 4lb for a game 1m6f victory at Haydock but takes a big drop in class and can follow up with a similar effort. Jeu De Vivre has won two of her last four starts but is creeping up the weights, while Gordonsville scored here two years ago and is well weighted, but hasn't won since that success.

Hard to dismiss any of these but preference is for I'LL BE GOOD, winner of two of his last three starts. He's up in class but won with something in hand at Catterick and might still be open to some improvement, despite the fact he's already had 11 outings. Idler is a progressive sort but carries a 6lb penalty after getting off the mark at Catterick yesterday, while Free Zone has plenty of weight but can't be ruled out with confidence.

In a wide-open contest it might pay to side with ROTHESAY CHANCER, twice a C&D winner earlier in the year. He's running better than recent form figures would suggest and looks to have been given a good chance by the handicapper. Tongalooma is another in good form but might have too much weight now, while Tadavil appears well weighted but most of his winning form has come over 6f and this trip is on the sharp side nowadays.

After a hat-trick of successes in the summer, including a hurdling win at Perth, SOPRANO has been held twice since, albeit in better company. Dropped to this grade again, he can defy top weight to land the spoils. La Bacouetteuse registered a double in August but was a shade disappointing off this mark at Hamilton last month, while Strikemaster was a game winner at Catterick but only got home by a head and may struggle with another 5lb.
