SELECT COMMITTEE advertised his well-being when beaten by a head at Thirsk last week and although he has been raised 3lb for that effort, he is taken to gain compensation while evidently in good heart. Atlantic Beach is at his best over this trip on fast ground and remains weighted to go close while C&D winner Secret Venue shaped with promise at Thirsk on his comeback last time and is another to consider, racing off the same mark.

REDVERS sets the form standard based on his second to the promising Chiefdom Prince at Pontefract last time out and would take all the beating if running to a similar level of form here. Circuitous is entitled to build upon his debut effort (when third) at Kempton and has place possibilities with the benefit of that experience behind him. Dickie's Lad, who enjoyed a pleasing introduction over C&D last term, is also considered.

SHERNANDO was somewhat disappointing when switched to the handicap ranks last year but may return a stronger force this term with the benefit of another winter on his back and now upped in trip. Hallstatt scored over C&D last year off a 5lb higher mark and is handicapped to give the selection most to think about. Bollin Greta has fitness to prove but is unlikely to be far away if fully wound up to go on her seasonal bow.

A competitive sprint here and both Anne Of Kiev and Bounty Box warrant respect on official figures. However, NIMUE would be a real danger to all if allowed her own way out infront under Jamie Spencer and is taken to build upon her comeback success at Leicester while evidently in good heart. Curtains can be forgiven her last effort in a messy handicap at Newmarket and is another to consider after scoring on her seasonal bow at Lingfield previously.

None can be confidently ruled out in a wide open affair but a tentative vote goes the way of BADEEL, who made most of the running when opening his account in a polytrack maiden at Kempton last October and is likely to appreciate this step up in trip. Mezyaad scored on his debut at Leicester over this trip and looks the one most likely to capitalise if the selection misfires. Profondo Rosso, Sir Michael Stoute's only runner on the card, is also considered now up in trip.

It's worth giving another chance to CHOSEN CHARACTER, a disappointing third on his seasonal reappearance at Redcar last month. He's shown himself capable of better last year and the fitting of a first-time visor here could aid his cause. The danger looks to be Classic Voice, second on his two starts this year but rising all the time in the weights. Windsor claiming winner Certral and Number Theory are not without chances.

It could pay to side with GEORGE BAKER in this trappy contest. He was caught right on the line over 7f at Salisbury last week, going down by a short head. Racing off the same mark and over this slightly-longer trip, he can go one better. Hathaway, second at Warwick last week, looks the danger while Grey Boy is a model of consistency but might be in the grip of the handicapper now.
