A double penalty will make things difficult for Rainy City but he arrives here in fantastic form and must not be discounted. That said, giving 6lb to ANOTHER BILL looks to be a big ask, although the Nicky Richards representative would not want the ground to get too quick. There was moderate promise in Katgary's debut for this yard over 2m1f at Kelso last month and the extra distance should be a big help to him. Imjoeking has some good form to his name and he has gone well fresh in the past. The hat-trick-seeking MISTER FIRST bolted up on his most recent start at this venue and a 7lb rise in the ratings looks very lenient considering the ease with which he won that contest.
VESPERAL DREAM should be spot on following a spin at Exeter, meaning he's all set for a bold showing bidding to win this race for the second year running. Several of his rivals look dangerously well treated were they to put their best foot forward, including Katgary and Jet Master.

HALLINGHAM brings the best recent form over hurdles to the table and faces plenty of moderate rivals in this contest. He had a spin on the Flat on Saturday but previously was third at Stratford and that form has been boosted significantly, with the winner and fourth winning subsequently. Grand Meister has not been seen over hurdles for quite a while but he was running well enough on the level earlier this year. Archipeligo and Dubai Shen complete the shortlist.
GRAND MEISTER has shown only modest form over hurdles, but he has since progressed on the Flat, and he is potentially well treated now handicapping returned to this sphere. Dubai Shen has seemingly been brought along with handicaps in mind too, so he is feared most, while Hallingham should continue to give a good account.

HOSTILE FIRE has not been at his best over hurdles of late but can be given another chance on his chasing debut. On official ratings the five-year-old has upwards of 12lb in hand against these rivals and he should be able to bounce back to form. If he were to disappoint then Prince Khurram would have a big chance and would have gone closer on his first start over fences but for making a mistake four out. Make It Happen would be the pick of the rest despite returning from a lengthy break.
HOSTILE FIRE will need to have sharpened up plenty in the jumping department if his hurdles exploits are anything to go by, but he has been given a break since his last run and gets the nod to make a winning chase debut. Prince Khurram should ensure any chinks in his armour are exposed judged on his latest Carlisle second, however.

In a race which it could pay to look near the head of the weights, preference is for OVERTHEEDGE who makes his handicap debut after some fair efforts in novice hurdles. Dimple has decent claims dropped back down in distance after a solid effort behind Grade 2 placed Ami Desbois at Hexham. Urban Kode looks best of the remainder having won under Alexander Thorne over C&D last month.
Both THIS THYNE JUDE and Badged performed with credit in the same C&D maiden (from tough terms) when last seen in April and should be very competitive back handicapping on that evidence, the former marginally preferred. LARGY GIRL was a bitter disappointment when stopping very quickly at Carlisle behind Wildehearted Woman but can put that behind her in what appears a fairly modest bumper. Bingo Conti has proven disappointing since his initial promise behind Petit Mouchoir at the 2015 Punchestown Festival but warrants respect with Richard Johnson taking the ride, while newcomer Colonel Forster has an eye-catching jockey booking in Sam Twiston-Davies.
Hard to be confident that BIGNO CONTI or Largy Girl will match their debut efforts given they have both suffered heavy defeats since, but with dangers looking thin on the ground, they may well fight it out. Marginal preference is for the former.
