LILYWHITE GESTURE has been much improved since she joined the yard of Gordon Elliott and she may have found 2m6f around Cartmel too sharp for her, especially as she was victorious over 3m2f at Sedgefield the time before. The consistent What A Game could prove to be the main danger to the selection, although Breezy Kin and This Thyne Jude cannot be discounted following encouraging performances last time.
A competitive heat. LILYWHITE GESTURE wasn't seen to best effect at Cartmel last time and can bounce back and make it 2 out of 4 since joining Gordon Elliott. The consistent What A Game, This Thyne Jude, who has been knocking on the door at this venue of late, and last year's runner-up Solway Trigger head the dangers.

Another chance can be given to SON OF MY HEART, who did not run too badly at Kilbeggan last time but more would have been expected. On his last start here, in July the 11-year-old only found one too good for him over 2m4f and he arrives here 3lb lower in the ratings today. The likes of Mo Rouge and Shaiyzar are not particularly reliable but they are capable of going well if at their very best, while Solway Sam makes the shortlist following his win here a couple of months ago.
SHAIYZAR won off a slightly higher mark over hurdles at Southwell last month and could be the way to go as his second at Hexham in the spring suggests he's just as effective over fences. Son of My Heart is an obvious threat for the Gordon Elliott/Richard Johnson combination, while it'll be interesting to see what the market makes of Lucinda Russell's chase/handicap debutante Rivabodiva.

In a moderate event the marginal preference is for TRESPASSED, who put in an encouraging effort when second at Roscommon at the beginning of last month. Since then he has been beaten in two other events in Ireland but they were both significantly stronger than this contest. Stone Quercus has yet to show much in three starts over hurdles but he did go well on the Flat a couple of weeks ago. Andratx and G'day Aussie both have plenty to find but the latter would be the pick of that pair.
TRESPASSED sets the standard on his recent in-frame efforts in Ireland and can provide Gordon Elliott with a third successive winner in this contest. Stone Quercus is taken to fill the forecast spot.

Plenty of these have chances but none more so than ENDEAVOR, who has a 7lb penalty for his clear-cut success at Cartmel a week ago. The veteran is clearly in fine form at the moment as it was only three starts ago that he won by 10 lengths at the same track. Wot A Shot has put in four fine efforts since returning from a lengthy break, including two second-place finishes over this C&D. Kumbeshwar and Theflyingportrait can also go very well.
WOT A SHOT continues to shape well and probably should have won over C&D last time, so he remains of interest off this sort of mark. Theflyingportrait is enjoying a fine season and may prove the biggest danger.
